Visited on one of the few days this summer when it wasn't raining and cold so we able to eat outside on the terrace. Spectacular views over the Dee estuary and beyond. You can even see Blackpool tower on a clear day. Food quality was good and promptly served with absolutely minimal wait time but was not served very hot and being outside it cooled too quickly. The problem with this lovely public house is that it has had a whole series of tenent landlords who have never seemed able to help it reach its full potential. A huge carpark, plenty of space indoors and outside as well as a small 6 or 8 pitch caravan site for touring vans as well as a limited number of guest rooms. An ideal location for thousands of tourists travelling in both directions along the A55 to and from Anglesey/Holyhead and many other parts of the beautiful coastline of Wales. We hope the new tenent/landlord who is also the chef is able to make a success of it and is here to stay.

Well what can I say? Think I found a little gem just up the road. Took advantage of the two for one meals we both had steak and the little boy had curry and rice. Absolute bargain on the food was amazing! Absolutely no complaints. Will definitely be calling again. I might be calling this my new local. Beautiful looking pub with beautiful food

Amazing Sunday roast! Just before booking we noticed they were dog friendly and did a ‘doggy roast’ For £4.95! Yes, those are the doggy dinners - not ours 😂😍 really enjoyed the food and the pups definitely enjoyed theirs!

Great Value Sunday lunch. Excellent portion size. Great quality. Absolutely rustic inside stone floors in parts log burners Great friendly staff. Dogs r welcome which is a massive bonus. Excellent view overlooking out towards chest and sandlow. Will definitely be back to try the bigger menu.

Brilliant place. Seems to have been taken over recently with an intention of making it welcoming and classy. We enjoyed a Fish Friday deal which was fantastic food at a bargain price. They were also offering 20% off drinks too. I can't fault our experience which was a great alternative to a normal Friday evening.

Firstly Megan deserves a medal and a doubling of her wage. We visited Friday evening, she was not only serving the bar but also the restaurant and it was very busy!! service with a smile, kindness and everything you would hope for. When we're back in the area we will definitely be back again. Food was good value and tasty. Hubby adored the lambs liver!!

Lovely place. Driven by loads but popped in whilst on a walk and was delighted by the place. Well kept and great views out of the back. Didn’t eat, but the food looked nice. Will be sure to go back for food next time I’m passing.

Wonderful! I recently stayed overnight in my campervan as part of the Britstops programme. The location is great- not far from the motorway, but very peaceful & quiet. You get great views out over the countryside & to the sea beyond. The owner is very lovely, sweet & helpful. The pub has a warm cosy atmosphere, and there is seating inside & out. There are a great selection of dishes on the menu. Showers & toilets are available for those staying over. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!
