Called here early this Saturday lunchtime after looking on Google.
Proper solid quality tasty fish, big white flakes, cooked perfectly, excellent well drained batter. Along with really tasty chips. The delicious curry is rumoured to be made by Leprechauns.

My favourite fish and chips whole of Yorkshire. Super friendly staff. Reminds me of fish of chips as a kid. Quality. Can't recommend enough and my dog loves a small piece of fish.

The fish here are top quality, lovely batter and the staff are great. I come from Savile Park and its the only fish and chippie l would go to. I always ring them and ask for them to be well done for me and they are perfect.
Lovely chippy, been going for a few years and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good fish and chip shop. I think the loveliest worker there is Donna, she has been so kind to me every time I go there and I think she deserves a promotion or an award for her genuine hard work and dedication!

Hadn’t tried Stretchgate until a couple months ago despite working very loc for over a year. Never really was a fish and chip fan (I know, blasphemous) until recently. Stretchgate is the perfect little hole in the wall that’s easily missable but seldom forgotten. Reasonably priced and amazing food.
Best fish shop in Halifax !! Give them a try if you haven’t been before ..You won’t be disappointed great fresh chunky haddock &chips and curry sauce for me every time .. super clean shop located near the Halifax driving test centre.

I have used Brackenbed Fisheries for 6 Years but thought I needed to give this place a try after my last few visits there. Well am I glad 😀 I did lovely taste chips but the fish well I felt like I had actually had a proper portion of fish 🐟 lovely and thick and totally tasty 😋 new customer from now
