I love this place!
I've waited 4 years for a return visit here from Australia, and top of my list of things to do was have lunch at Merrie England!
This time I had the eggs, sausage, tomatoe, with everything on a tea cake, and it was the duck's guts.
The ladies working are gorgeous and the atmosphere is happy.
I will definitely visit again before I leave in the next 2 weeks.

Friendly, efficient service with wide variety of sandwiches, cakes and drinks.
We have been visiting the Merry England cafes for many years but the Halifax branch is our favourite. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food and beverages are good quality for a reasonable price. The cafe has a traditional feel with its themed decoration which gives it a nice atmosphere.
Love this place. First visited when I was a small child with my grandma and we came weekly. Recently revisited after being out of the area for 15 years. More modern inside but the food and drinks still the same great quality
Great Little Place. Always Packed! Waited in a Queue (Pre Covid) whilst the Partner found a Seat. Ordered 2 Tea Cakes with Tea. Very Good Price and it was a Decent Size! Tea was on the Small Side but it hit the Spot.
Always consistently good - forget starbucks et al and enjoy this beauty x
I have been visiting M E since I was a child. The make over is excellent. Straight forward food with friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely sandwiches all freshly prepared how you like them with loads of filling.
