Just been with my husband and in laws and my kids would deffently recommend me and my father in law had mix grill one of the best dishes I've had for a long while well worth the money and my husband had the beef lasagne and mother in law had a roast dinner and they said the really enjoy it hat's off to the chef it was fantastic
Lived in siddal for 3 years now and never been to the shears Inn, Wish id have come sooner! The food was incredible, authentic home cooked food, my hubby had mixed Grill which came out on a sizzle plate had all the meats, egg, blackpudding, and a massive side of chips, i had Cheese and onion pie and it was absolutly delish!! Even the kids enjoyed their food, we all left absolutly stuffed! ~Thank you

Had a lovely meal here last night, it was 8pm and the pub was very quiet, we got our meal it was hot, cooked well and plenty of it, 6 of us all different meals and all satisfied, staff very nice we will definitely return , the only thing was the pub was a bit chilly could have done with heating on, it got busier later with a nice atmosphere. Thank you
Stayed last night .can't critisise this place.second visit to this friendly inn.staff are brilliant . food is very good and a very good base for going into town.and lovely breakfast.round of applause for shears inn.

The beds are so comfortable we stayed for 8 nights & the food is awesome, all home made, would definitely stay there again 😊

My husband and I chose to have a meal here after our wedding last weekend. I’d been previously and really enjoyed the beautiful food. They were happy to accommodate a large group booking (we did book quite a bit in advance, and gave our orders a week before so they could be prepared), and on the day they couldn’t do enough for us! The staff were so friendly and helpful, everyone really enjoyed their food (I highly recommend their beef dinners - absolutely delicious) and they even kindly gave us a couple of extra bottles of prosecco to go around! Thank you to all the staff team for helping make our day special! Lovely little pub in a beautiful spot.

I had breakfast with a friend today, the quantity, quality and value for money was 5 star 🌟
Roast Dinner is next on my list to try and I'll definitely be back sooner this time.

1st Visit Feb 2023: We visited today for lunch and received a lovely warm welcome both from the staff and the lovely log fire too.
The food was proper pub food and we all really enjoyed it. I'm still full jow so can't fit my tea on!
Will definitely be visiting again.

Called in on a Sunday afternoon with my wife and enjoyed some good, tasty food. The young woman serving behind the bar was welcoming and friendly, for which she was praised. She and another young waitress promptly cleaned tables as they became vacant. A pleasure to see. Other pubs/restaurants should take note.
Me & my daughter stayed here for 1 night last weekend (24-25th June 2023). My daughter ordered steak pie, chips, garden peas and gravy and I ordered Chicken ,leek & ham pie, chips, garden peas & gravy.
Both were absolutely beautiful. A massive portion which outfaced us both. Very friendly & very helpful bar lady.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Shears Inn and had the most fantastic time, the owner and her staff were so friendly and welcoming, we ate there on about 5 occasions during our stay and the food was just superb, good size portions, so so tasty and great table service all at a fair price as was the cost of our stay. A very quirky little place slightly hidden but close enough to the town for shopping and evening visits. Both ourselves and the friends who were with us can't praise the staff and quality of their service enough. Excellent value for money, not too expensive but you'd pay twice as much at a hotel and not get homemade food of the quality they serve here. Brilliant. Would absolutely recommend to any couples wanting to visit Halifax or surrounding areas.
My friend recently moved to the area and we stumbled on this pub while walking the dog on the canal. Once we noticed they did food we ordered Sunday roasts. It was like having a roast dinner at a friend or families house - big portion with plenty of meat, everything seemed homemade and was very tasty. We then noticed they did breakfast so walked on again this morning for that - very good also. We will definitely be coming again!

My wife and I met up for lunch with 4 members of the family. We all enjoyed our meals . In fact, we stayed chatting for over 3 hours, not rushed and finished off with coffee's enjoyed so much we will be there again next month
