It's not a restaurant hence the empty rating for food because there is none. For the other aspects it gets 5 so effortlessly that it makes the star system almost redundant. The array of well kept ales is not quite as expansive as The Royal Oak but it makes little difference. The pub has a beautiful
Great little pub. Aptly named as it's next door to the Minster. As I walked in, I heard "bells were ringing out" from Fairytale of New York, while bells at the Minster were in full peal, a triple bell experience! These 2 beers were available for anyone liking their beer dark and sweet. Other beers i
Had a couple of pints before my train home. The barman was lovely and the place was clean and warm. The toilets were a bit grotty but typical of an old building.
Wonderful pub situated at the bottom of the hill, while entering into Halifax from Beacon Hill or Shibden hill hike. You can also grab delicious food on Sundays, they serve from 12 to 5 PM. We weren't lucky, but it certainly smelled delicious.
Great selection of beers on tap, family friendly and dog
Lovely place, rooms recently redecorated. Very clean. GREAT shower!!! The staff are lovely and laid back. It's a very welcoming environment. It feels like you're staying at a friend's house.
Great, cosy pub. Very friendly, good beer, big beer garden. Great if your train is delayed!
Great pub well kept beers, food is good as well good manu to choose from
Lovely pub, very welcoming. Love the fire and real ales.
I would like to say a big thank you to the staff. I was really impressed with the way we were greeted and served. Today we celebrated a life. The staff were respectful, very patient and helpful. Although they had to deal with a variety of characters it was amazing the level of patience shown. Thank
Went with a friend for lunch and the food and service were amazing! We had homemade lasagne and chips, proper pub food at really good prices. For the ladies, there is a good selection of gins and wines and for the men, a good selection of lagers and beers etc. It is close to the Piece Hall which is
Pleasant pub next to the Minster. Great outdoor seating area. Beer could be a touch better, hence only four stars, but worth a visit.
Local pub friendly staff great folk go in only downside the pub advertising food served but this is untrue and the toilets need modernising
Popped in here for a few drinks before going to the Piece Hall to see Hozier, great atmosphere with the bar playing a selection of Hozier tracks "Nice touch". Staff were friendly and drinks very reasonably priced.

We visited this Halifax real ale pub next to the church 5 minutes walk from the train station
This pub has a great choice of real ales and a good discount on real ales for camera members
A great unspoilt Edwardian coaching house, and I'd advise people who like real ale to use
Excellent service proper home cooked food and decent selection of beers
No WiFi. Nice cozy place. Decent beer selection.
