Very good wine and beer, lots of choice of spirits. Excellent music with regular live bands. Friendly, welcoming and highly entertaining staff. If I could invent my ideal pub, this would be it!

Clearly the jewel in the crown of the now burgeoning calderdale micro pub scene... Staff and owner are top people, the pork pies are off the chart (seriously buy one and attempt not to have a second immediately..) and the place is host to lots of varied talks, music sessions and open mic nights. Add in the gin selection, fine ales, intimate size and friendly punters, and you really do have a no brainer of a visit.

I love this place. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the quirkiness, the real ales... I could go on! The staff and clientele are a unique brand of people, who are friendly and welcoming. A gem of a place.

Cosy little bar with a great atmosphere. Varied selection of beers & spirits. In my opinion the sign of a good pub is one where one of the hand pulls is a stout/porter so Grayston Unity met my approval straight away. Good to see the owner utilising the space he has to put on live music

Called in last night with friends to The Grayston Unity. There is no where else like it. Cracking hand pulled ales, lovely friendly atmosphere and just full of quirkyness and character. The attention to detail by landlord Michael has really made the place one of a kind. We will be back!

What a quirky cool AF drinking emporium ! Lots of great beer and a great range of spirits to choose from, aswell as an eclectic range of music played. Micheal is very welcoming and knows his stuff.....booze and tunes ! Lots of history behind the building and surrounding buildings. What’s not to love

Great little place! I enjoyed my gin, and the staff were very helpful in finding a nice citrusy one that I’d like. Try not to take negative views to heart, you can’t please everyone all of the time, majority are 5* so you must be doing something right! Looking forward to coming to one of the outdoor cinema nights.

This is a gem of a bar in what is developing into a great selection of modern watering holes in Halifax. Friendly staff, discerning customers and an excellent selection of beers make Grayson Unity stand out from the rest. Love this place

A great new venue for ‘Fax, or rather more accurately, a great venue that has moved to much better premises, though I did love their old venue. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, a good beer selection, well priced. It’s a bar on the ground floor, music venue in the basemen. We saw the first band to play there, The Incident. Sound was good considering it was the first gig staged there. They’re already booking some good acts. Highly recommended, I wish them luck!

Favourite watering hole in Halifax, just moved to a larger location and still full of character and has the same warm welcoming feel and vibe of their previous smaller spot 😀 Great selection of beers on tap 👌🏼 🍺 Decor and friendly staff make this my first destination when in Halifax. Oh and they have live bands a plenty which I need to get myself too sharpish! 🎶🎸Fab area now for the bands to play, great work guys! 👏🏼

Great community hub (yes, hub. Not autocorrected). Great ethos. Great bands. Great beers. Nothing lost in the move across town, in fact it's been enhanced! If you don't like it, can I suggest a leisurely stroll across to George Square for your entertainment?

A unique bar in the heart of Halifax. Quirky and kitsch in a good way! Brilliant selection of beer and really friendly staff and regulars. Plenty of seating upstairs too. Well worth a visit, if only to see the brilliant decor.

Decent selection of cask and craft kegs etc. Separate music venue downstairs. Same quirky decor as the old grayston's The only negative is the strong smell of damp . Not good. Worth a look though.

A unique pub that’s retained its character even after the move to bigger premises.

Great venue in the town centre. Decently priced drinks and DJ Turnip was superb! Took my Dad and his partner for a 70s boogie which they thoroughly enjoyed!!!

Don't know how they did it, but it's just as good as the original. Great atmosphere and plenty of comfy seats. Beer exceptional as always. I'm looking forward to get back here.

Smallest live venue in UK Superb range of beers. The Grayston Unity is a must visit if you are anywhere near Halifax. Apparently it is the smallest live venue in UK. If you have not visited it you need to before they close in August and move to a new site in October.

Just called in to see the new venue after going out for a meal elsewhere. Really liked the new place. Same querkiness as before, but in a slightly bigger space. Not the cheapest place in town, but well worth a visit :)

I've been wanting to pop in here for a while, so it was with great pleasure that we missed our train and needed to find somewhere to wait for an hour out of the rain. This is a lovely social space, with a good range of real ale on our visit ranging from pale to a great market porter. There are a variety of seating areas from tables to what I think were old bus seats down one side! A nice large window out front probably makes this lovely and light during daytime. Staff were super friendly and helpful, making us very welcome and tipping us off to a ska band playing in the basement (who were brilliant, I must add!) Whilst I didn't spend very long here, the atmosphere was great, the other patrons sociable and chilled, and I will definitely be heading here again when I get a chance. One thing I did take note of was the defensibility during a zombie apocalypse. Whilst that big window could be problematic, I am confident it could be barricaded quite easily, and the layout should make it easy to defend with a small group. You could have far worse lock-ins, and you'll be confident of a good range of beers to last you for a little while 😂

The coolest bar in Halifax. You feel like you're walking back into your Gran's house in the 70s, but with a bohemian and arty vibe!

Great little bar, nice ales at sensible prices. Have experienced several live music events here, quite something in such a constricted space. Really good atmosphere, worth a visit.

A brilliant bar in newly refurbished premises, stunning quirky vintage decor, wonderful bar staff with some interesting customers! No, I'm not making it up! I've never walked into a bar before that's so welcoming. Literally stood at the bar & another customer started chatting away like a long lost friend ! Michael & team, you've really cracked it with this one, well done to all of you & keep up the excellent work, You're well on the way to becoming a Halifax landmark & far cooler than the Town Hall !! As for the Halifax Soul Crews first gig last Wednesday ? What can I say ?. You absolutely smashed it lads and Im delighed to hear it's now going to be a regular slot , expect that will be very good news to the many who attended. KTF x x I didn't eat so can't comment.
