Brilliant Mothers Day meal! Staff were lovely and attentive.
Food was tasty, reasonable and very good portions.
Will definitely be back!
Had a gorgeous Sunday lunch at the Griffin in on Sunday. Very good food at good prices. Very friendly staff and dog friendly. Would recommend to everyone to go and try it out - before the secret gets out and the place gets packed out - as I'm sure it will once people go and give it a try. Well done guys
We popped into the Griffin for Friday evening fish suppers. A warm welcome and nice food. We'll done.
Lovely pub. And Nala was a stunning addition to the place. Alas, the service was very slow-thank goodness it was extremely quiet or we might have died of thirst! However, the standard of service-once we were served, was great. Will be back
We had a Really lovely time staying at the griffin inn, our hosts were real genuine human beans, everything was perfect
Great country pub in a quiet area. Not too far in a cab for central Halifax, which we were heading for. But a warm welcome, and looked after in the time we were on site.
Very dog friendly, and good quality drinks.
Really love this place the staff are friendly and very polite they have a nice selection of larger and beer , The rooms were very nice and cosy and clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely full English breakfast in the morning . I would definitely recommend the griffin to anyone who needs a pint or food or a room . Thanks for a lovely stay
A last minute decision to book as I was passing through the area. Great room, clean tidy and large. Good value. Landlord very friendly and helpful and the full English breakfast was spot on. Recommended, will book again if I am in the area again.
Lovely pub, great location, just met the new landlord and his daughter, very friendly and welcoming, couldn't ask for more, handpull very well kept and a nice selection of drinks on offer. We will return to try the food, sounds great and good luck with your new venture.

Good food and beer. Staff are friendly and very pleasant. My first time here but will definitely call again.
Lovely people at the pub and very accommodating (dog friendly too!). Great food. Definitely worth a trip out for. Inhad steak and alr pie with chips, peas and plenty of gravy. Portion was generous with amazing and huge chips. Rest of the party had beef sandwiches with large slices of beef which were tender. Also great with the children. Hope to visit again.
Just visited again tonight. And again the Griffin has surpassed itself. I had calamari which wasn’t your normal deep fried rubber nonsense. This was delicious panko coated rings of delcioness with salad and aoili mayo. Followed by divine lamb shank and mash. Incredible quality. My wife had perfect sea bass which she loved
All chased down with a perfect pint of bitter
Visited last night. Under new ownership and new chef. Service is just as good as ever with nice beers on tap and a fantastic gin selection
I had THE BEST chicken burger last night. It was the best I’ve eaten and I lived in america for 10 years.
Rest of family really enjoyed their food too. Well worth a visit
Stayed here Saturday night (114 October 2023) in preparation for my wedding the day after
The girls where brilliant and its a cracking place
Great little pub with really nice home cooked food. Very filling. We also wanted to stay on for a few drinks, as our table was allocated for another sitting, the very nice lady found us a table in a quiet part of the pub. She looked after us really well, making sure we were topped up with drinks and even called us a taxi as data and wifi is pretty hard to get due to the very thick 18th century walls!
Had a lovely walk in the area with our dog and ended up here for a few pint’s!! We, especially our dog had a lovely welcome. Very relaxing and warm 🤗
