I always love dining at the sportsman, the food is always delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is brilliant, steph is a credit to the place and the new waitress Erin did a fabulous job. I always recommend this place to eat or drink.
Came in on Saturday and I can honestly say the food was amazing.The staff was lovely and the atmosphere was great too.Ive been to alot of places and can honestly say this was far one of the best we've been too.Not one for leaving reviews but I just want people to know how amazing this place is and if you haven't been yet,get yourself down there as you are missing out

Come to the Sportsmans every Tuesday for quiz night. The staff are always very welcoming and you get service with a smile. Supper is always really good. All in it's a very enjoyable evening and would recommend joining us if you like a good quiz night! Eaten here a few times and the food is excellent and service perfect. We had our wedding here, it was a beautiful day and the staff was great. The food was just as good as the main menu and everyone said they would go back again.

The best restaurant we ate at during our recent visit to Yorkshire. Wonderful carvery for just nine pounds with all sorts of veg and their Yorkshire puds, absolutely delicious. I also had a delicious Cajun chicken dish which was served with nice chunky chips.
One of my favourite pubs at the minute as they do really good food! A varied menu catering for many different tastes is available at this friendly country pub. Whether you want a full three course meal or just a sandwich the menu offers something for everyone.
The sandwiches are fantastic, they come with homemade chips, side salad and gorgeous coleslaw (the coleslaw has recently made a reappearance after a short abscence much to the delight of my sister and I), they are a good size and would do most people for lunch.
My favourite main is the lamb shank which I can highly recommend, again the servings are very generous so you won't come away feeling hungry!
Good country Inn now focussing on food. Excellent menu with plenty of choice an good value. Also a choice of three real ales in good condition - Taylor's Landlord, Black Sheep Bitter and Tetley's Bitter. Large function room at hte back (Turbury Suite) and ample parking so can cater for weddings and business functions too.

Lovely welcoming place booked last minute food was lovely 3 courses £18.50 lovely choice too. Would recommend a visit.
Called in around noon for some food. It's reasonable in terms of value. The brisket was lovely, very tender. Proper Yorkshire pudding and a nice rich gravy.
The burger was a good size, but a little dry. More sauce would have been better. I prefer my burgers a little less done than it was, it helps keep it juicy. I wasn't asked how I would like it cooked.
The staff were friendly and attentive, very welcoming, but maintained professionalism.
There wasn't much of an atmosphere, as it was very quiet, due to the time. There was some ambient music on, and I can imagine it being a good atmosphere peak times.
Car park is plenty big enough and it is easy to find.
I'd go again and would recommend it for other people who might be passing and looking for somewhere to eat.
Not the cheapest, but the food is excellent, and the service is unbeatable. Those of our party who had the fish and chips commented that the fillets were a little small. The desserts are also pricey, but are very tasty and well presented. The atmosphere is good, but a wee bit leaning towards sports bar rather than cosy eatery. It's not stopped this from becoming our go-to venue when in the area though. I'll be having the deep-fried brie again for sure.

I had my wedding reception here and go for a meal on our aniversary for 32 years. Excelant Sunday roast at great price.
We were well looked after. We were a party of 14 plus two dogs. The food was great. I had a steak and ale pie, gorgeous. They do a good deal of two mains and a bottle of wine for £35. We were well looked after.

Came here on Sunday a party of 15 the food across the board was amazing! We all had the correct order and the place runs like clock work! Thank you so much! Aged between 5-85 there’s definitely something for everyone! Lots of parking and beautiful garden! Will come again to try the carvery!
