After a visit Covehithe beach on a sunny breezy day,we didn't fancy any of the Southwold pubs, so we headed to the Race Horse. Great beer, friendly staff, very dog friendly and lovely food too! Just wished this was my local. If you are visiting this year make sure you make a donation to the solar panels appeal for the pub.
1st cycle ride with friends to westhall racehorse what a lovely warm welcome from Annie food was spot on service excellent beer and cider were lovely and deserts were gorgeous the rum and raisin cheesecake was the best. We will definitely be back
Great lunchtime menu with vegetarian options and reasonable prices for locally sourced ingredients , we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Also staff and locals very welcoming.
Fantastic pub, brilliant food and great dessert!
A real community oasis.
There's a good select of decent local ale in tap and the staff are really attentive and very friendly. A rarity for me from a big city, where staff can be impassionate. There's a really friendly vibe.
Food is available, but not necessarily in demand, so please check before heading out to avoid disappointment, as the pub brings in outside cooks on demand and does a food run to the local fish and chippy, as examples. I like this entrepreneurial spirit, where innovation can lead to great enterprise between one business and another.
What a lovely visit 😊
Cracking little pub, run and managed by the community - who are warm, welcoming and keen to make your visit a thoroughly pleasurable experience.
We were a little concerned that our greeting might be a little 'Slaughtered Lamb' but could not have been further from the truth.
From the moment we walked in, we didn't feel like we were visitors to the area - a real sense of community that extends beyond those that live locally.
Great beer and great food (we had pizzas, salad and coleslaw - all of which was really, really good), plus great conversation from those behind, and in front of the bar.
Well done to all of you - long may the success continue. We hope to visit again.
What a gem to have on the doorstep of Sunnyside Campsite. Brilliantly kept beer and cider with really tasty home cooked food, run by volunteers. Cheers.
Popped in for Sunday lunch, and everyone was so polite and friendly. Lamb shank and roast beef were amazing. Apple crumble and custard was the 'icing on the cake'! Would definitely return if we're ever back in the area.
Gorgeous little pub, fantastic food and a really lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and regulars. Dog friendly too. Highly recommended!
Beautiful community run pub. Really friendly staff and locals and a very welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely be coming again!
