I can not express how warm a welcoming this pub is ! We was visiting Liverpool and had no where for my son to eat as he’s autistic and very fussy . We walked into the wellington and was looked after my all the staff from the start ! The barmaid even gave my son who is obsessed with floors and rooms a tour of the cellar a function room !! We can’t thank the staff enough for turning a bad day into a lovely afternoon ! The food is lovely too especially the fish and chips xx

We turned up a little later than the finish time food but the boss checked with the kitchen and we were shown to a table. The waitress was excellent and the food was very good. We will be going back again as we were treated so well and served with delicious food by cheerful and efficient staff. Thank you to the management and staff.

Had a Sunday meal at this vibrant village pub the food was excellent a delicious meal served with a pot of gravy...the choice was beef chicken pork or for an extra price lamb shank... other meals are available. Starters looked very good also clean dining area pre booked as plenty of people turn up to dine.. great staff service to .Beer garden, bar with TV good ales beautiful garden as well definitely worth a try 👍👍👍

Called in here unexpectedly on the way home from a very stressful visit with my poorly sister at Chester hospital. My mum and I were a bit sad and tired. As soon as we sat down.. a really friendly girl welcomed us and took our drinks and food order and told us she would open up a tab to save us going to the bar. Very kind of her. My mum ordered the fish n chips and as I am trying to lose weight.. I ordered the chicken and bacon salad without the bacon or dressing . The food arrived and my mum LOVED her meal saying it was the nicest, whitest cod she had ever had. That's a real compliment from her as she is really fussy! I was expecting a pretty boring chicken salad but it was the nicest I'd ever had. It had all the freshest ingredients plus the chef had incorporated quinoa and brown rice into it. It was really delicious. The chicken was fresh, delicious and grilled to perfection. I'm definitely going to return here with my husband and daughter as we only live in Grassendale and I know they will love it. Thank you so much to the staff for such a warm welcome and an exceptional meal. it was just what we needed on such a sad day and it really rejuvenated us. We will be back!

Our first visit to this pub. Popped in for lunch (a Sunday). A warm welcome from the staff as we entered the pub. A nice table. Good beer. Great food ( roast dinner for me & scampi for my wife). Staff were really nice too. We both really enjoyed it. We will be back.

Went today for my birthday and fathers day i had the carvery and it was absolutely lovely will definitely go back on a Sunday. We usually go on Saturday and really enjoy it would definitely recommend this place for a cheap and cheerful place to eat and have a little drink

Got to be the worse mixed grill I've ever had,,, missus got the steak an spent most of her time trimming off the fat which left her with a couple of pieces of barely edible meat,,, looked like everything had been deep fried there was that much grease on the plate,,, terrible staff too,,, good job McDonald's weren't that far away

Myself, my husband and his parents went for a meal last night at the Wellie. We ordered x3 rump steaks and a hunters chicken, and all four meals were cooked perfectly. The desserts afterwards were also 5/5, so thank you to the staff at the Wellie for a nice meal.
My only criticism would be they have removed a dessert that was mine and my husband's favourite off the menu - chocolate crownie or melt in the middle it was called. It would be great to see this back on the dessert menu. Thanks x

We called in last night were told they had finished doing food but the lovely landlady stepped in and said they'would accommodate us I had the best gammon steak I've ever had in my 70 years

Went there me and my daughter we both got beef madras it was gorgeous, the beef was nice and soft and plenty of it x we also got sweet potato fries they looked well done but they wasn't they was lovely xx

That bad it was funny, list of issues including 2 choices instead of 4 for meat, waiting 45 mins for ur dinner, getting a chicken breast or half a chicken and being told that was carved, cauliflower cheese minus the cheese or the cooking , banana butterscotch sundae minus the banana, all finished off with a side order of attitude from the staff

Food was served eventually, can't believe I paid nearly £16 for 1egg, 1 sausage, 1 small steak (and I mean small) which was fatty, 1/4 chicken breast, 1 salty gammon slice, couple of pease, and about 10 chips. Menu stated fried onion rings, fried tomato & mushrooms.... we they were hiding some frikkin where.
Mum and wife thought they were getting 'Welsh minted lamb'
Wtf 2 slices of lamb with thimble of mint sauce, no Yorkshire pudding, no peas and no endless vegetables... tbh it was disgraceful.
