The Merrie Harriers - Hailsham - Photo album

Traditional and cosy pub located in rural Cowbeech. For the quality of the food, it seemed a little overpriced but otherwise an enjoyable visit. Opted for breaded bree for starter and the (spicy) hunter's chicken burger for main. There is a free car park to the side of the pub for patrons.
Superb pub. Very friendly landlord, excellent food (Sea Bass cooked to perfection, Hunter's Chicken Burger excellent, and Chocolate Bread Pudding and Ice Cream to die for!!). Good atmosphere, reasonable prices, great service. Will definitely visit again.
Absolutely top class pub. Beautifully situated, nice decor and gardens. Staff excellent, friendly and accommodating. All well priced. Good atmosphere. Food extremely well cooked and presented. Booked again while there. Sunday roast choice was very very good. Well worth a drive out to. 🐶🐾 friendly in
This is an excellent country pub. We went there for lunch to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary. Excellent food and unusually for a pub a great selection for vegetarians. Shame it isn't closer to home!
Very pleasant pub. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Didn't eat but menu available.
Had a 90th birthday here with 30 family members. Food and service was excellent. Very friendly staff
Wonderful place to stay, great food & excellent service. Staff so helpful, great customer service!
Great place, friendly staff and dog friendly. One vegan option but it was delicious.
Lovely traditional village pub with a good garden area for warmer times.
Well, well, well! What a wonderful weekday getaway that was….. The service was divine. The location exquisite. The room we stayed in was cozy and peaceful. We (my partner and I) were lucky to have Room number 7 which overlooked the Surrey Hills and was home to over a dozen peaceful lamas. This area
Called in with my mum for lunch to cheer up a wet day. It was cosy and comfortable with fires in both bars, and the food was delicious. Mum wanted small, and found a good choice on the starter menu. I wanted veggie, there was an excellent selection. Everything lovely.
Ok it was mid-week so quiet, landlord was friendly so we’re the locals, we took our 2 dogs in who seem to enjoy it too. It’s pub grub done quite well we both enjoyed ours, local ale was good. It was close to where we were staying a suited our needs. Worth a try just don’t overthink the place, it’s a
Booked the restaurant with James fr a family lunch for 23. A little bit of pre planning was required but James offered a varied menu served hot and on time. The influence of the new Chef can clearly be seen with great food and super service. Great place to eat , give the pub a try.
This was our nearest pub to where we had parked our motorhome and what a pleasant surprise it was. We were based a couple of miles away so walked there through the most beautiful bluebell saturated woods in Sussex. On arrival we were greeted by the landlord who directed us outside for drinks whilst
Excellent food lovely outdoor eating on a nice day.
Great food and service. Beautiful garden when we get the weather
Really nice country pub, pleasant atmosphere and good food
Recently we had a family meal for 30 at the Merrie Harriers. James and his his staff provided us with an amazing roast and either berry crumble or chocolate fudge brownie. They made sure a couple of dietary requirements were covered efficiently. The food all came out quickly, piping hot with masses
