I have eaten some food in my life but nothing will ever beat the food here, I've come home to my favourite restaurants and they are rubbish compared to this, I would highly recommend the oysters they were the best I've ever taste, and I also had the full lobster it was very delicious, we also had the tasting platter wow just wow if you like sexy food this is definitely the place to go, it was that good, we went twice in the same week it wasn't cheap but it was well worth it
Our second summer on this beautiful island and we ate on Tuesday lunchtime at the Little Gloster. I must admit it's our cousin's restaurant but I still maintain its the best food on the island in my opinion. The sharing platter is too die for as are the sea views especially at sunset.
We also really enjoyed the pomegranate mess dessert-delicious. The little crew childrens' menu was brilliant for our hungry 9 year old. It's really good value too for the quality of the food. Try it!!!
Amazing food 🥘
Amazing views with the sunset 🌅
Sharing platter for two to start followed by Lobster and Plaice 🙏🏼 Unreal food 🥘 cocktails 🍹Very friendly staff ...and to top it off played some darts 🎯 Fair to say we rolled into our taxi back to the hotel ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
We cannot recommend The Little Gloster, Holly, Ben and all the staff highly enough! Yesterday we had our wedding lunch there and stayed in the Balcony Suite for the night. The lunch was perfect. Food was out of this world- our guests were raving about it. The staff were so attentive and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The Balcony Suite was beautiful and has possible the most incredible view I have ever seen. We can't wait to go back again soon! 5 stars just aren't enough!!
Such a lovely find whilst on the Island visiting family. Inside is a delight with friendly staff waiting to help. An amazing menu it was hard which dish to choose! Attention to detail and freshness top of the bill. Really good prossecco too!! Thank you. We will be back.
We stayed for two nights last weekend and had the most relaxing time. The weather was amazing, which meant we could eat both Sunday lunch and breakfast outside, which is always a treat in the U.K. we loved our room, enjoyed our Sunday lunch, thought the breakfast excellent and the staff lovely. We’ll definitely come again!
I treated my partner to a night away for his birthday and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely, food fantastic and beautiful setting and all staff were extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Just went today for Fathers Day. I have to say the service was excellent, what a well run restaurant. The food was incredible and worth the drive over from Southampton.
We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant on Saturday evening to celebrate my 50th birthday as we were staying across the road for the weekend. Wonderful food and menu, service fantastic and Ben the owner was very attentive to everyone as were his staff. The little touches like sheep skins on the benches outside and fleeces to keep us warm as we watched the sunset were thoughtful and appreciated by us all. Also my little birthday treat for pudding was a super :) Thank you so much ! Please go if you ever have the opportunity x
We ate here for the first time last night on the back of a friends recommendation.
He told me it was the best place he had eaten at on the Island.
After a great meal and outstanding service I have no reason to argue.
Not the cheapest place to eat, but, like everything in life you get what you pay for.
Lovely place lovely people lovely food hugely recommend
Had to come for the best bloody Mary I have ever had x food was excellent. 2 x plaice, 1 x Lemon Sole, 1x Mackerel Salad. View is fab, but the service is and always has been impeccable x
Absolutely fabulous the roast pork and crackling was the best I have ever had staff were great too
Beautiful restaurant and a beautiful spot where the little sailing boats past while you enjoy beautiful food with a perfect service, in a maritime theme environment or in a sunny garden.
We had a lovely breakfast at The Little Gloster, highly recommended. Friendly staff.
The sharing platter on the lunch menu was gorgeous! Especially loved the tempura crevettes and the beef carpaccio! Didn't get the name of our waitress but showed the perfect level of attentiveness without being intrusive! Big thanks to Ben and Jess for the recommendation, we'll be back, hopefully in sunshine next time!
Excellent food! We loved our meal here. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Our daughters aged 10, 14 & 17 all enjoyed their meals. Friendly welcome, polite, efficient and attentive service. Food was served quickly, but with sufficient time between courses. Wine list is quite cheap considering the price of meals.
We have been in Cowes for part of the year over the last five years. This was our first visit to the Little Gloster. It was terrific. The food was excellent and the wine list very accessible. Even though a grey day being on the water is a treat. The service was friendly and relaxed. I had gravadlax and a flat iron steak with delicious chips--and I am not a great lover of chips. Lovely souffles for dessert. I thought the price quality ratio was great and look forward to my next visit.
Probably one of the best restaurants on the Island. Lovely sea views and terrace, the dining room is beautiful and the food honestly was spot on. Big juicy oysters. The cod was cooked to perfection and the sirloin on the bone was clearly from a fantastic butcher, nicely aged. Staff were very friendly and we had a lovely meal.
The location and wonderful perspective for ocean views and sunsets sell it alone.. but the service and staff should also be mentioned as they really were exceptional. Very warm and helpful, from menu decisions to cocktail options everything felt very friendly and genuine. This is reinforced through thoughtful little touches such as welcome/information book and jelly sweets left out for guests in the bedrooms.
In the restaurant, I chose the lobster from their locally-sourced fresh fish options, which was superb. Cocktails also deserve a mention, with a special shout-out for the smoked martini
What a delightful evening. It's a hot and sultry one so we booked to be outside.☀️🍴 Good food, good service and a spectacular sunset. Menu wise, if you want choice, you need to like fish! 🐟 The three course set menu was good value if you like/want pasta. For a non fish eating person avoiding pasta it boiled down to one chicken option or steak. Having said that, the chicken supreme was nothing like the 70's picture I had in my head and was truly delicious. 👍I recommend. £££
We booked the bay view room after seeing the Little Gloster on the channel 4 show "Four in a bed". This place is an absolute delight. It has great rooms which are light and airy and very clean. The bay view room that we stayed in had a coffee machine and we were also offered fresh milk. The staff were superb and couldn't do enough. Upon arrival, despite being a little early, we were presented with a complimentary coffee while the room was serviced. Everything felt so relaxing. The perfect start for our stay. Ben, the proprietor, is also an awesome chef and the meals we had were some of the best I have tasted. Absolutely superb from locally sourced ingredients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Gloster to anybody. We shall certainly be returning.
This is a little gem of a beachfront restaurant in a charming spot. We've been going here for years. Food was very good today whereas out can be less good than it should be for the money - or we would go more often. Service is still patchy too. Drinks very slow to arrive, as usual. Some very good staff but others seem to be there to make the numbers up. Inconsistent. Although on a sunny day overlooking the Solent it's still one of the very best spots on the island.
Seen this place on TV had to visit while at our holiday home for the weekend in Bembridge.
On arrival we were greeted and taken to our table with a great view over The Solent. The atmosphere was very relaxed, while the place was buzzing with conversations all around the restaurant.
A great selection on the menu supported by a special board.
The food was amazing see photos, the staff were awesome and guess what? We are coming back for more.
Prices were a little above isle of Wight but so was the food and service.
Lovely little restaurant on the north coast of the Isle of Wight. You get a beautiful view of the sunset from the outside tables for dinner. Helpful staff who will provide blankets when it cools down at night. Good fresh seafood - the lobster was amazing. They also have a few rooms that you can spend the night in.
Amazing food with beautiful presentation and great service. Would highly recommend a visit here not too overpriced for the quality. We will come again for sure!
Genuinely fine food, clearly made by talented chefs who care. Friendly, attentive service, and an attractive setting. Everything was just right and there were even interesting vegetarian options should you require them. Highly recommended.
We were nicely greeted. As we wanted one vegan meal, the waitress checked out the possibilities .The chef agreed to prepare something special. Very Nice indeed.!
We were served with local garlic bread. OMG!Fantastic. The main courses were fine as well. .The Vegan option was relatively small portion but still ok.All in all a nice experience.Only issue we had was: Why charge 15 pounds for a few warmed up vegetables?(see pic) although specially prepared as a vegan option?
Absolutly stunning food , great friendly service !! Me and my husband and a 5 &7 year old made to feel very welcome , kids no problem! Nice wine and probably the nicest chicken main course ive eaten at an Italian restaurant. If i could give more stars i would. 10/10 deffinatly go back !!
An absolute 5 star stay we had for the night, fantastic room amazing views and Ben’s lovely! Keep up the good service
A special place in an excellent location. Perfect sunset drinks/ meal restaurant. An entire afternoon can easily be lost on the lawn enjoying the sun, boats and song on something cold. Pricing is a tad high but worth it.
The place is very comfy, you really feel like home. The food was absolutely delicious and on the specials menu yesterday they had a raspberry soufflé that was a show stopper of the evening. Recommended!
