Good to see the pub doing so well & the locals back in make a great atmosphere. New landlord and lady are super friendly and welcoming. Plus they now serve a proper steak pie and it's the best ever!
Really friendly and accommodating after we'd been for a walk in the rain and were wet through to the bone. Lovely food. I'd recommend the steak pie and chips. My friend had the beef Sunday lunch which was a bit minimal especially for the price.
Great pub in a great location. Friendly bar staff/landlord/locals. Good ale choice and food (proper pie). Great to catch up with Neil and Fiona for a beer.
We are regular visitors to Gunnerside and have just spent 2 weeks there. We were delighted to see what a success the new owners are making of The King's Head. Great food and beer, and a friendly welcome from them and the locals are just what you want after a day's walking ( mostly in the rain this year).

Very busy popular pub in a great location. Good choice of cask beer. Excellent food (including vegan and vegetarian dishes) and pleasant staff. Although right up to the road it's got outdoor seating.

You've just got to visit this place in delightful Askrigg.. Great atmosphere, hosts, food, beer and locals. Feels like you are in Darroby, (all Creatures Great and Small)
Had dinner here while staying in the village. What a lovely little pub. Very friendly staff. The food was good and the ambience warm and welcoming. Would recommend.
Lovely visit to Kings Head last weekend, staff were very friendly and welcoming, fantastic food and great service, dog friendly too! Good walks from this lovely little village too, definitely will be stopping by again on our walks through Gunnerside.
Did a 10+ mile walk and stopped at this little pub for lunch. Very hospitable and food/real ale great. Set in the village of Gunnerside in Swaledale,what more could you ask than a walk,drink and food in Gods Own County

The staff were welcoming dogs allowed . The food was great but get in early .quiz nite Sunday .Fridays happy hr. lovely walk over the bridge turn left over stepping stones along river.
Fantastic Sunday roast, great customer service, with lovely local beers. Really classic pub. Highly recommended stop if you're on a walk!
We were a party of 12 visited for a meal. Really couldn't fault it. The food was great. Plenty of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful.
