We had a lovely walk on a well signposted route. The free map is full of information about the area. Parking was only £2 for the whole day. The cafe served freshly made sandwiches, soup and beautiful looking cakes. Very friendly staff. Can't wait to go back and explore another route. Only 30 minutes from Plumpouth.
If your looking for a great place to enjoy the countryside this is a great place to visit for all sorts of activities.
Took 16 adults and 6 children to do the tree surfing and the staff were amazing! One of the children has a dog phobia and the staff were asking dog owners to keep their dogs on leads! 2 adults needed winching down out of the trees and the staff doing this were amazing and you felt totally safe in their hands! Totally recommend going there! Cafe was awesome too with lovely pasties and cakes! Next summer we'll be there again!
I go to the trails as often as possible to run with my dog or with a group. Always have a lovely time, and the beech cafe is amazing. Great shop for all our running needs as well. Highly recommended.
I was there to run the Saturday morning 5 km parkrun. £1 to park for two hours, super landscape to run in, best of all was the cafe, nice coffee and amazing cake selection. I'll be back.
Really lovely food, great service, lovely friendly staff. It has been my favourite place to visit in a long time. And some really lovely walks. It's all been really lovely.
This is such a beautiful place for a number of activities to suit most abilities. I've been walking, running and cycling here and would recommend it for all three. The cafe is lovely too with very friendly staff and delicious homemade goodies, all well priced too. £1 to park for up to two hours, £2 for all day and you could easily spend all day here with the different paths (some of which are suitable for horse riding), but also the tree surfing, archery and much more!
We had a great time. Nice cool walk under the trees on a hot day. Tea & lovely food served by friendly staff. Car park just £1 for 2 Hours or £2 for all day. Dog friendly also. What more could you want?
Great location. The food, coffee and the staff in the Beech Café were awesome. Also had some expert advice and guidance on running kit from Colin the 'mountain goat'!! Purchased some great kit at very reasonable prices. Thanks everyone for making our visit so enjoyable. See you all again soon.
Great place for the family, we enjoy the mountain biking and walks. The cafe is great and everyone is so friendly which make such a difference. Fab coffee and awesome cakes. Just beware of the traffic warden, don't get caught like we did going 13 mins over our time!!! They are out there putting tickets on cars.
We spent yesterday on the Tamar canoeing with Dave and Lawry, our instructors. All 10 of us thoroughly enjoyed our day, we had great weather and the trip was beautiful. Our instructors explained everything and guided us with skill and ease, including gunnel-bobbing (oh that was fun) and a qiuck and impressive rescue when the birthday boy and I went for a quick dip! It was lovely and I would highly recommend it, thank you to everyone who helped make my husbands' birthday a day to remember. And you have to eat in the cafe, the food is gorgeous, we'll be back.
Lovely place great trails to horseride on with lovely scenery and good size car park x
We had a great time doing Archery today. The instructor was brilliant, very friendly and informative.. definitely would recommend to others. Thank you
We had a fantastic time doing Archery this morning. High recommend it and Hal our instructor was great, and all the family enjoyed it
Have been cycling and walking here, lots of options for different abilities, very welcoming and helpful staff and a great resonably cafe.
I nipped down on a rear day of after a phone call about trail shoes few cups of coffee in the cafe and a chat about the range of shoes yes there know there kit and got to say thank you .If you looking to go somewhere nice friendly be it running walk biking or just a bit to eat and a cuppa it got to be done
Our first time visiting for the Halloween trail. Brilliant place. There is so much to do here. They also have tree surfing, which looked amazing.
I tried to book online but had trouble. So I emailed and they replied swiftly and it was all sorted out.
Recommend wearing wellies or boots as it was wet and muddy obviously! Didn't put anyone off as it was really busy.
There's a small cafe. We called in on the way out. Very small menu, but decent cuppa. The best apple cake I have ever tasted. All 4 of us had something different and not one complaint. It was lovely.
I have to give a massive shout out to the young girl who was serving in the cafe. It got busy very quickly and she was amazing. Very calm and polite. She managed the queue really well until someone was free to come and help.
All the staff were great. Friendly and knowledgeable.
Good couple of hours.
Friendly, informal, helpful. Granddaughter had a great hour climbing through the trees on rope bridges and whizzing down the zip wire. The staff were obviously very safety aware but we're not constantly on the kids backs over safety. One young lady got rather over confident and slipped off a bridge, but she was fine the safety line caught and held her until helped back up by the duty staff member, no harm done. Yep, we'll go again.
Absolutely brilliant, the walks are very clearly marked, loads of information on the trail and very scenic. Rounded off with the best veggie pastie ever. Friendly informative staff. A 5 star place to visit for a short or long walk, cycle or ride.
Fantastic place for the family! We did the Halloween trail and the kids loved it, plus the hot chocolates in the cafe were amazing! Would definitely come back again!
Absolutely love this place for all the family. The kids loved going on the junior tree surfing and my partner and I, thoroughly enjoyed the adult one. The staff are very friendly and easy to get on with. Very informative when explaining how to use the tree surfing course too. Nice little cafe and friendly woman that was serving.
Bit muddy but very good children enjoyed it
Set within a thick tree 🌲🎄 cover. Safe and friendly staff always on standby for help if needed. Kids had a blast with the junior tree surfer adventure experience. Worth the time and money. Initially can be quite scary but you quickly get comfortable and start to really enjoy this.
Excellent place for a walk, swim, cycle or just general lark about. Make sure you buy a parking ticket though as they will issue fines. The cafe is a friendly place. The Parkrun event is great fun.
So much space for mountain biking, dog walking or just a leisurely walk through the woodlands. Different trails to follow.
Sadly, the dog bin was over flowing and desperately needed emptying, with some dog owners leaving their bags in trees!!
With activities up in trees to be completed by all, its the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air and exercise, see some amazing structures of history and the views..
Walking boots are a must. This is the place to get your heart pumping
Good walk to be out in the fresh air. Easy to find large car park. Easy go navigate routes
Great fun and confidence building for our 7 year old who loved it. Helpful and friendly staff who looked after everyone safely.
Lots of additional walks and trails to go on in beautiful Woodlands.
Loses a star due to lack of vegan food options in the cafe. Sorry, just one of those things for us but if you eat dairy then won't be a problem.
Absolutely loved it, it was a gem found too late into the holiday (last day)...the walks are great, they also do tree top walks aswell as canoeing and bike hire.
I'd defo recommend it for a family day out there's also a cafe that does hot food and cold drinks....Will defo be going on our return next year..x
Lovely walks, some challenging, some restful.
Excellent views.
Safe for Dogs to enjoy.
After your walk, you have an option to rest up in a lovely cafe. Which serves drinks and good food or snacks.
Carpark costs £2.50 for the day.
There are also toilets which are always handy.
You can also pay to go tree surfing if that is your thing.
Highly recommend the high ropes and giant zip line. We had a great time here. Excellent staff who were able to accommodate a big group at short notice.
Went on the Halloween trail and really enjoyed it. Dogs welcome too. Kids enjoyed finding the clues. Looking forward to trying more activities at some point
We went on the high ropes. The adult course is amazing, I found it very challenging both physically and mentally, my son (16) really enjoyed the level of challenge. There is a junior course for little children or those who are new to high ropes. It's great fun but not very difficult. The reason that I haven't given this 5 stars is that my daughter (11) found the junior course very easy but she wasn't big or brave enough for the adult course. Something in between would be perfect. There is also a zip wire which we didn't try but looked good, lovely forest walks and a cafe with delicious homemade cakes.
This place is really good, has various walking trails, cycling trains, tree surfers and much more. Not too be missed if you're in the area, they have the most friendliest staff as well.
Took my adrenalin fuelled 6 year old tree surfing. She loves it. Staff are very professional and friendly also understanding of the kids that aren't so brave. A nice walk through a Pine Forrest aswell.
High ropes course is perfect. I saw a range of reactions from it was "just right" to "get me off" so it is a goldilocks skill-level - not too hard, not too easy! Instructors are really good, friendly and helpful. Groups on course mixed age and ability. You can work a bit as a team and share in each others victory.
Cool breeze on ropes course means bring a jacket. Bathrooms, plenty of seating indoor and outdoor at the little Cafe. Hot chocolate and coffee will warm you up if you get cold.
