Can't recommend highly enough....lovely atmosphere, delicious well priced food..great staff.....go there now! x
Easily one of the best Sunday roasts in Yorkshire for £10.95 including extra gravy, mash, cauli cheese at no extra cost.
Beer selection is always faultless too. So grateful to have this within walking distance of our house, and so is our dog! 👊🏼

Had an amazing evening!! Food was to die for !! & beer even better .. thank you
The PIE OF THE DAY is the best. Deep filled with lovely pastry. We have been many times and have always enjoyed the great service and a warm welcome
Held my 40th Birthday bash here. Perfect sized room for my 50 guests, with its own bar in the corner. Beautifully decorated. Friendly and helpful staff on hand , to ensure the evening ran smoothly. Highly recommended.
The best pub in town; beer and staff always on form.
As a regular, the beer range is great, and as ever my pint was perfectly served.
Cannot speak too highly of this place. The staff are welcoming and helpful. MOST importantly, they know their business and handle the fascinating range of beers expertly. Always happy to let you sample a guest beer and advise on choices. It's relaxed, friendly and a great mix of customers (and dog friendly)
Food great quality and not bad prices. Try it ... It's the 'jewel in Guiseley's crown'
I love this place. Recently renovated, I've visited about four times in the last few weeks. The food is delicious, my favourite is the pie - a must try!
Lots of local ales and a nice atmosphere, still highly recommend.
A great clash of modern & traditional here, both in terms of look & feel of the place as well as the booze on sale. Absolutely stupendous beer selection - traditional hand pulled ales (including Timothy Taylor's Landlord), American IPAs & pale ales, and a great selection of lagers & pilsners.
The bar man did not quite fit the style - I found him to be quite curt and out of kilter with the theme of the place. Perhaps he was having an off night.
It's rare that I get to go for a drive, and with good reason: I don't actually drive. But, thanks to recalling the recent review of this place from Kate W, whilst on an aimless jaunt along the outer roads of Leeds, this place called out from behind the windscreen of my cohort's car. We pulled up and had to park opposite the Guisley theatre (who're showing Guys and Dolls at the moment, if you care for it) and took a very brief and very chilly walk over to Coopers. The bar is large, with boothed areas for dining and supping, and boasts a number of past and present beer mats on the wall behind the bar.
I'm told there's a huge function room upstairs, and sure enough there was plenty of literature about the bar with events coming up. We took advantage of their 3rds offer, where you can sample a 3rd of three different pints on taster trays. In all, it meant we got to try 6 of the 8 beers on offer, and whilst I did my best to be cognisant of what I was drinking I quickly forgot which was which... Excepting the porter, which was the only dark beer on offer. With Kipling, Bete Noir, Wild Mule, Okams MPA and more, it was lots of fun taking in the different tastes. Being a beer fan, but not fanatic, it was great to get a feel for how the different flavours come through, from overtly citrus, to hoppy, to chocolate. And of course, each tray is priced at the cost of one pint.
The bar is dog friendly, as we saw many different pooches lazing around, and it's very friendly. We were sat outside for less than a minute before some gals came chatting, so I can imagine it's lovely to nip in solo or with friends. The staff looked really happy too, bantering with locals, and they were happy to advise. Essentially, it's a fantastic warm pub, and another great Market Town Tavern. Love it!
Fabulous pub. Stunning choice of ales. Lovely interior. Staff very friendly. Unless you are a fan of cosmetic chemical beers you'll love Coopers bar.
Coopers is a bar/brasserie on the main A65 road at Guiseley , and is part of the Market Town Taverns Group, many of which I have reviewed (Town St Tavern Horsforth, Arcadia Headingley, Baht 'At Ilkley, Horse and Farrier Otley). I have no connection with them. Since I stay in area two nights most weeks, I look for a an 'eating pub' at least one night for a bar meal, and eat in my hotel (usuallly Chevin Country Park) on the other.
I arrived at a couple of minutes before six. Large selection of beers , ever changing , but no Taylors Landlord , my favourite. Ordered a pint of same brewerys Golden Best instead.
Was shown to a table in dining area, and presented with menu. I was going to order the Salmon and Dill Pate (£5.95) followed by Sea Bass (at £13.95 the most expensive main course), but then I noticed the early bird menu was still 'on' (two courses £10.95) and that one of the three starters was the Salmon and Dill Pate. Seemed good value with it I ordered local Pork and Leek sausages and mash.
The Pate arrived, with a watercress dressing, and five pieces of crostini toast. It was very tasty, good pieces of flaked salmon minced together with the herbs , but maybe a little on the dry side. The sausages from nearby Syke 'something or other' farm (forgot the name), were among the best Ive ever tasting, rivalling Lipmans in Ilkley for supremacy. Three of them on a good bed of mash with plenty of gravy, and a side dish of veg (sliced baby courgettes, broccoli, carrot batons) came with it. I could not fault it.
Now those two dishes and a pint for under £14 really does represent good value.
By the time I left, the place had begun to fill up and was starting to get noisy, tables and chairs were rather clattery on wooden floor. Toilets also were a bit smelly !
This place would be brilliant, if it was smartened up a bit with softer decor, and could be more aimed at restuarant rather than a bar, but that isnt usually the policy of the MTT group.
For pub eating I still marginally prefer the Fox at Menston, only a couple of miles away, or a little further away still, The Black Horse at Askwith.
Great place.staff are always friendly and provide fantastic service. Offer a wide range of drinks and have a very good food menu. Never had a disappointing visit to this place
Lots of great ales, great atmosphere and the staff are always very friendly and attentive. Not tried the food yet but I've heard it's really nice! Definitely one to try!
Great place. Foods quality hone cooked tasty goodness! Great selection of alcohilic beverages. Highly recommended! Couple of the staff members need to cheer up but overall they are friendly and attentive.
This has to be one of the best public houses in Guiseley. Although not steeped in history as a public house the orginal building has been a well known place in Guiseley previously a butchers and more recently a shop. The old tile work of the butchers can be seen throughout the building adding a little character. A warm and friendly environment can be found on every occasion, this is not a public house which draws youths in. The relaxed surroundings with brewery advertisements from around the world add a warmth to the walls. The food however must be acknowledged from a bar meal to a meal with friends in the resturant up stairs, it must be said how tasty and what value for money coopers provides. Not forgetting the ales, fantastic, a must visit for all. Remember no drinking and driving. Local to bus stops and even a 5 minute from Guiseley train station.
Liked the place. Excellent range of beer and enjoyed the food. Gets very busy.
The beer tastes as good as it looks in the photo - spot on 👌🏼.
Had a great afternoon for Xmas dinner. Attentive staff, bar one!!
Food was nicely cooked and presented. I chose pork over turkey and was disappointed to miss out on roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, parsnips, pigs in blankets and stuffing all for the same price??
Meanwhile the Xmas pudding option was minute compared to other desserts.
Quality all good but I’d expect similar quantities??
Probably the best pub/bar in Guiseley. Great selection of draught and bottled/canned beers, lovely atmosphere and staff. The Comedy night that happens on occasional Fridays is also excellent.
Great food, Staff and Cider. We liked it so much we booked to go back before we left.
popped in with the family for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. food was really tasty i ordered the crispy belly pork and mash. some toys and board games for the kids and great music on. and verry friendly staff.
The real gem of this fine establishment is the staff and always has been. Nothing short of fantastic and we’ve never felt so welcome. Warm, inviting and with beers/food to match. Reece and Tom are really one-of-a-kind, including Maisie, Liam, James and Hannah whom make you feel like friends. Special shout-out to Natalie and Josh. Thank you for everything.
We dined in the restaurant and had fantastic food. The beer and a pint deal was great value. Fresh food!
We then ventured to the beer festival. As a fan of Pale Ale, there was a fantastic range to choose from, the band Motor City Blues provided a fantastic set with a range of music. Their performance was free of charge in aid of the charity raising funds.
It’s fantastic that we have this pub with a great venue on our door step.
Can’t wait to visit again!
Always a warm friendly welcome from the staff here, add to that a great range of beers and a sense of belonging that you get from a proper local makes it a great way to pass a few hours. We didn't eat this week so I have left the food rating blank, (although we have eaten here on many occasions and have had no complaints ) just settled for a few pleasant drinks served to us by Liam in his usual friendly manner
Great service this evening (14th Dec) first time visiting and received brilliant service from the staff! Maddie, Maisie and Tom were so friendly I will be back again. Merry Christmas
Wednesday is the quiz time. We stayed for it after our meal and didn't regret.
Dined this evening had a lovely meal with friends. Maddie and the team were so attentive, quick service and very helpful!
Started an exploration of a few pubs in Guiseley here as the previous place didn't sell ale.
This was a good decision as Coopers had a great range of beers and the staff were lovely. Also, the food was spot on.
The place is quite discuss and open, with a pleasant decor (the shade of green on the ceiling reminded me of snooker tables; just missing a trick with not having coloured spots for the balls ☺️)
For the grammar pedants out there, I know you'll be asking where the apostrophe is. If you figure it out, do let me know. I suppose it's a marketing and brand thing. Regardless, don't let it stop you from coming to an excellent pub.
Really enjoyed every visit here. Great service, atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff, the guys are superb.
Been coming to Coopers for a long while now. One of our favourite places to chill, meet friends and have a bite to eat. All the staff are extremely friendly especially Liam Olliver....always great to have a chat with, cheers Liam
Lovely menu, with a wide selection of beers on tap. We had a classic and sloppy Joe's burgers over a lunch time and they were great. Service was quick and polite. The atmosphere is great, nice layout and with board and card games available.
Just drinking on this occasion and as always made very welcome, especially by Liam who has worked there a very long time. Service is friendly and efficient. Great dog friendly pub 👍
