First time visiting food was lovely served by a very pleasant young lady who was very helpful. I like the fact that peas ext are served in a separate dish on a separate plate so as not to serve less chips as some other restaurants do. Lovely atmosphere with live pianist on the day. Only slight inconvenience is the car parks a little crowded at the time but well worth a visit.
Delicious haddock, scampi. Loved the curry sauce. Mushy peas is also good.
The first time eating, the food was delicious. Two varieties of curry sauce to choose from, very tasty. The restaurant was spacious, nice decor and .echo...staff seemed to disperse once you had eaten. Order at the table, pay at the table? We paid at the desk. Waited too long. Would I go again. Yes. Good food. Good price. 👍
Went on Saturday teatime, table booked for 4.45pm, for a table of 10. The food was good the chips were typical chippy chips & the fish was freshly cooked & nice & crispy. Between us we had mushy peas, curry sauce, beans & bread & butter. All in all the food was pretty good, the service was good & the atmosphere was OK, but I did think it was on the expensive side
Take away fish and chips only £8.30 and good sized portion.
Today I ate in. Fish and chips regular size £12.95 with tea/coffee and one slice of buttered bread. The Fish and chips was tasty and the batter was crispy and not overdone. Tea came in two pots one with one tea bag which was too weak for two pots. I complained and brought me a replacement tea. Live piano music was a nice Christmas touch. 😃😃😃 Staff was pleasant and helpful
Was just reading the reviews. A person just put that they are using beef dripping and not vegetable oil. I'm a nutritionist and it's my job to know about oils and fats. Beef dripping is incredibly good for you, it's the vegetable oils that are EXTREMELY bad for you!. Seed oils which is vegetable oil is the problem with a lot of peoples health!!!! It's the extraction (using solvents etc) process they use to de-gummy the oils and fats after they have been extracted (as they are gel like). Maybe you should do your home work before posting an awful scathing review like that. Fool!
First visit to this fish and chip restaurant and it definitely won't be the last. Beautiful big building with plenty of parking and inside was very spacious, the tables were well spaced so that the people sat next to you didn't seem that they were sat with you like in some restaurants. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent and great value. A second visit will be made soon.
Haven't been in years and didn't expect the standard of the Old Harry Ramsden BUT I haven't enjoyed fish n chips so much in ages. Staff where lovely. Service great and the food was worth every penny. The decor is as beautiful as it ever was. All added up to a ' Posh fish n chips' experience. Thankyou

Really tasty fish and chips. Good atmosphere friendly staff, Quick service. Loved the piano playing n the background. A good experience 🏆😀
Had a lovely mothers day treat ,was given a complimentary bunch of daffodils before we left.
Even through it was busy ,the staff were very efficient.
Food ,atmosphere, service 10/10
Traditional fish and chips, served in the original home of Harry Ramsden's - quality food served in 'tea time' style and if you're lucky enough to get a table on the weekend, you can enjoy the pianist who accompanies you while you eat.
This will be the fourth time I've been to this restaurant with family and have not been disappointed at any point. Great food and plenty of choices, the staff are friendly and considerate and the prices are good. We ordered the regular haddock and chips and treacle sponge and custard for dessert.
1st time visiting here and loved it. The decor was traditional with a cosy vibe and toilets were clean.
All main meals come with complimentary tea/coffee. The fish was crispy and light (not too greasy), chips were perfect chip shop style. The curry sauce was one of the best I've ever tried. Pianist playing live creating a beautiful atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and our waiter was a nice bloke. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you're passing by.
Had a warm welcome for Mother’s Day.
Tasty and delicious meal and service with a smile .With a lovely gesture of a bunch of daffodils for us three ladies.
The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Fish was absolutely perfectly cooked, chips were fab and the portions are huge too.
Lovely friendly staff and really fast service too.
