This tiny pub is a portal into a bygone era of British communal life. Step through its doors and into the miniscule bar and you will be warmed not only by the open fire but also by the true friendliness of all those inside. With a maximum capacity of maybe a dozen folk in the main room you will be s
Nice friendly place, good choice of drinks. owners is lovely too.
My local, a lovely place to have a pint and a chat
Lovely old traditional pub in quiet location, although they don't serve Guinness the real ale stout was quite nice. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good selection of real ales. If we are ever in Guisborough again this would definitely be one watering hole on my list.
Lovely pub! Great atmosphere!
Brilliant place,, however, haven't been there since lockdown finished, but have been told that the price of ale has gone up 50% to £3 a pint ,, this is not good as you can go down the road and get a pint for. £1.85 , you do the maths,,,
A very friendly pub with great landlord and staff. Olde worlde type interior with real fires and nook rooms with a partial outside seating area with a further beer garden to the rear. No food unfortunately but very reasonable beer prices. The pub also benefits from recently refurbished toilets.
The beer is great, staff are friendly, always warm. Great if it did food and had background music, but that helps keeps it relaxed and friendly. One of the best pubs I've ever been to
It's like stepping back in time. Lovely place to go. Lots of friendly people, a cozy atmosphere and the only place I know of where you can still get half a bitter for under £1.
Traditional real ale by Samuel smiths, independent brewery from Tadcaster. authentic and quiet atmosphere in busy market town old Guisborough, the anchor is just off the main high street, prices are low and taste is great. A real gem
