Not been for food here for a long time. Called in for evening meal. Pleasantly surprised. Food was very nice. Decent selection of alternative specials on the day. We had a thyme chicken dish off the specials and a steak and ale pie followed by sundaes 🍨. As a bonus staff were very friendly and attentive! Will definitely be returning.

I couldn’t rate the rooms as I never stayed over but the food here was lovely, I got the signature burger and my partner got the steak and ale pie. I didn’t expect them to be so big. They were such a high quality as well, I would recommend for anyone who is looking for a place to have a date night

Stayed 2 nights for short break. Bedroom a little tired, especially bathroom. Nowhere to hang anything. Cleanliness: Bedding very good. Chair in bedroom needs a good clean as full of dust as was the join between the bed base. Carpet needs cleaning. Breakfast: Full English average. Sausage had never seen Cumberland! I had an evening meal that was supposed to be on on a bed of roast potatoes! These were new potatoes that were not roasted. I couldn't get my knife to cut the broccoli as is wasn't cooked, never mind Al dente. Having finished complaining, our stay was OK and staff pleasant. Wouldn't stop again

Great food, good service, really nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.. Dined here several times and always had a really nice evening. This is fast becoming the weekly eatery for the family get together

Reception area was clean. Slow to respond to the bell push. Room was clean and warm. Beds comfy. Loved the coffee bags. Shame about the mould on the bathroom ceiling and one small patch on the bedroom ceiling.

Had a staff meal here. Food was lovely, it's very clean and very professional. I had the Korean chicken. Food was served quickly as well as drinks. Not too expensive but really good food and pleasant staff. Takes cash and card payments. Facilities were very clean and tidy too.

It's a handy location with good car parking and the restaurant and lounge areas are lovely- we went for a meal Saturday evening and were surprised at how quiet it was. We had the fish and chips offer which was very nice. There was lots on the menu that we fancied but the chef seems keen to go the extra mile and it wasn't always what we wanted. Love pasta dishes but want lasagna to be just that not with extra elements I wouldn't expect. The option to have the taster puds with a drink was great too - don't want too much but a taste of something sweet was just right.

Lovely pub. Plenty of parking. A Friday lunch with gud choice of menu & drinks including non-alcoholic cocktails for a Secret Santa Lunch - sadly the food took absolutely ages to arrive and a very nice Steak & Ale pie had a puff pastry Lid that was burnt & inedible - bt the pie itself & chips were very gud. Had limited time to eat so didn't complain. the cook didn't watch their timings on this occasion bt my friends & I enjoyed it anyway. Would definitely visit again - it's a really nice pub - nice staff.

A family meal of 20 to celebrate my Dads 90th Birthday. From booking, to pre ordering and the night itself, everything was well organised and all the staff were very helpful. Food was enjoyed by everyone and Eileen went above and beyond to ensure that our party were looked after and that everything was perfect. A brilliant night, some fantastic memories and most importantly, my Dad said it was better than he could have ever imagined. Thank you Eileen and all at the Cross Keys,

Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms need an upgrade and are very tired which could be easily done. Breakfast excellent, staff friendly.
