My village pub but not been in for a good few months. Had a meal here for my partners birthday last night. Easy to book via the website, requested a table we liked no problem. Staff very friendly, prompt service and food was excellent. It is a little more expensive than other pubs in the area but often you get what you pay for and the food they serve here is not your usual 'pub grub', it is high end restaurant quality and worth the extra cost. I had calamari to start and partner had chilli and lime jumbo prawns, then hamburger and hand cut chips, it was delicious, partner had the mixed seafood & meat paella which was lovely. Very good portions. Usually quiet in the week around 5-6pm busy on Sundays and booking needed. Try it here you won't be disappointed. Recommend it highly.

Our first visit to The Ship this evening, I have to say I have no idea why it's taken me so long to try this place. Lots of people have recommended it and they have every right to, it's a gem. The menu is small but adequate, offering something for every taste. I had chilli and lime jumbo prawns to start followed by steak and ale pie. It was a REAL pie too, short crust pastry just as it should be. Service was excellent, provided by Eva who does everything except cook food it seemed. Can't wait to go back and this time, sample the ales ๐Ÿ‘

What a lovely pub, restaurant. Was looked after by very welcoming and professional young lady. The environment is nice with some quirky decor, with nice music in the back ground. We had a Halibut and Chicken kebab dinners, both were excellent quality and on the larger size potions, and with five drinks, come to ยฃ64. Small enclosed garden, from the car park on the right.

We arrived and parked in the back entrance car park as the pathway in front of the pub didn't look big enough to get a wheelchair along, the surface was quite hard to push a wheelchair and when we went to the back entrance we noticed the pathway leading to the door wad paved but very unevenly. We struggled with the chair and then went inside, we noticed there was NO disabled toilet yet on Google maps it has the accessible sign on the description....... we wouldn't say it is at all. We were shown to our table and handed a menu, as it was Sunday we opted for Sunday Lunch which a 2 or 3 course option was available at a very reasonable price. Service was quite slow and I wouldn't say it was overly busy, we heard a family behind us complain they had waited 45 minutes from arrival. The food when arrived was lovely and plenty to eat and a good temperature, service was poor. Would I go again? Yes but it would have to improve on slow service and accessibility for Wheelchair users, no disabled toilets is rather poor these days.

Having had a Summer Ball cancelled at fairly short notice, our group of nine decided to go out anyway and booked a table at The Ship. Abi and the staff went above and beyond in decorating the table and the area around, the food was excellent and the service faultless. Many thanks

The food was very nice and price was very good. One of the best pints of beer I have had in a long time, the landlord certainly knows how to run a good cellar. The service by the staff was exceptional, I will definitely be going again.

Great food, friendly service, good beer. Went on a quiet night so can't comment on atmosphere - so let's say ambience was good. Dog friendly. The world needs more locals like this. I will go again.

Had a great night. Food was first rate, had the steak and ale pie which was full of very tender steak. Staff are excellent and attentive, checking on whether everything was ok with our meals or if we required any more drinks. The Mardy Johnny Depps were playing and their music added to the great night my friend and I had. 26 May 2023. I wanted to add another review. A big thank you to Abi, Sophie and staff for making my friendโ€˜s birthday lunch special. My friend and I really enjoyed our lunch. First rate food as usual.
