The Royal Oak - Gretton - Photo album

I've been to the Royal Oak about 5 or 6 times. It's a really nice venue. I first went years ago for a workmates leaving do in which we had the venue at the rear of the garden. It's a really nice area. Other than that I've had a couple of meals in the inside restaurant and a couple of meals outside.
Food is of a consistently high quality, but today it wasn't hot when brought to us, one star lost for that. The amount of ice cream accompaniment on the desserts is a bit stingy for the price - not even one scoop. Service is efficient when it comes, but too often there are long gaps when no-one show
Nice pub lunch. Lots of seating inside and outside.
Amazing food with generous servings! Large pork chop nice and tender with mash with an infused twist! Well presented and very reasonable priced. Well worth the trip out to it, just be sure to ask for the WiFi password as signal is spotty.
We wanted to have a nice lunch in a local pub on our way to Sudeley Palace. I called ahead to book a table. The staff was friendly and professional. The pub itself looks amazing and the food was delicious. We ordered the ham terrine to share as a starter which was delicious. It was well prepared.
We thoroughly enjoy going to TRO it's got a super atmosphere and always filled with locals. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, providing a great service. 8 of us ate here recently, I pre booked to ensure a table was available. We had a variety of different dishes, all excellently prepared an
Excellent place for a meal. Excellent table service, great choice of drinks and a really friendly atmosphere too. Portions were generous and the food was well prepared and served. The location gives rise to superb Cotswold views whilst eating or drinking and the garden looks amazing. We will definit
Lovely evening meal there tonight. Tortellini pasta and the cod dish were yummy. Kids had the ham egg and chips and the chicken burger… clean plates. Thanks so much for great meal
Yesterday six of us ate lunch in the pub garden. Only one section of it is open to the public but there are plenty of tables socially distanced for dining. I like the decor of the pub. Colourful with black and white photos of historic racing cars. The Royal Oak is popular with petrol heads, whether
If I could give 6 stars I would! I had heard about the view. Its reputation didn't do it justice! We were sat in the corner of the conservatory and it was breathtaking. I honestly felt like a VIP all night. The service was great, the food beautiful and there was even a children's menu with a colouri
Had an excellent meal there in the conservatory. The service was attentive but not over eager. The food was hot, delicious and for a party of 11, we were all served at once. Couldn't fault it and would certainly recommend it.
Camped in my campervan in the car park. Rang ahead to check if this was ok, booked a table in advance. As we were running late we pre-ordered our food. When we arrived they immediately brought it out to us with a nice cold pint. Amazing ! The location, the food, the staff - perfect. They were super
Can't beat the location, beautiful countryside right next to the GWR train line. Staff at pub warm and friendly. Quick service and tasty food.
I found the menu more varied than I expected from a country pub and can recommend trying the Caesar Salad - it's excellent. There is good attention to detail for the service and surroundings, a friendly team of staff and of course the rolling Cotswold views. Definitely worth a visit!
Gorgeous roast beef on their Sunday roast menu. Lovely country pub with amazing countryside views including the GWSR railway.
Great find! Good food, good service and a good atmosphere with lovely views over the Wynchcombe valley. We were only passing through the area but, if we go back, we would love to eat there again!!
