We saw this place a few times when passing on the bus to LARGS & decided to call in on Monday 27th June 2022. You enter round the back of the building & it's a nice area to behold with a few outdoor wooden tables & seats. The all day full breakfast was lovely even though the top area of my link sausage was a bit overdone but didn't spoil the taste & the tattie scone wasn't all soggy with grease. My chicken soup wasn't at all watery but could have been a bit warmer, but I gess with creme in it, it shouldn't be too hot 🔥 anyway.
They do good quality tasting Porellies ice cream BUT it ain't as good as the Esplanade café. That's best tasting ice cream for miles & miles around. PS. Watch out for the crack in the toilet 🚽 for the disabled if u have to sit on the seat.
Returned again on Friday 16th September 2022 with my friend & I had the Chicken soup BUT I don't think it had cream in it when I done my last review & there was none in it this time.
I asked for it hot & it came that way BUT it had a slight greasy coating on top yet the soup tasted real good with bits of chicken🐥in it & the slightest greasy coating on top would no doubt help lubricate my arthritic joints. My stake pie was very good & there were NO bits of tough or fat meat in it & there was a lovely tasty piece of puff pastry on top, there was plenty of thick gravity but a wee bit too strong tasting for me & the brussel sprouts weren't too bad either. I was a bit disappointed with the mashed tatties, they were a bit too dry & only luke warm.
I was a wee bit disappointed that there was NO custard left to accompany my Carmel apple betty, but I got a choice of ice cream, skushie cream (aerosol) or pouring cream. I opted for the later. Still it was a most enjoyable afternoon out & so far the staff were easy to converse with & I was told that there was a new toilet 🚽 seat fitted just after I last reported it being cracked 👍

For breakfast wasn't disappointed. was good & so was coffee. I feel the tables are too small. For 2 people can't move.
Lovely lovely wee cafe! It got busy very quick and that speaks volumes. Staff are so friendly and have excellent customer service skills. The food was outstanding and it’s such a nice atmosphere in the cafe. Would highly recommend. Also! Has fab gluten free options! Was so happy to find gf French toast with bacon and maple syrup 😋 🤩

Food was brilliant and wasn't too long a wait. Got seated really quickly and staff were all lovely. Will definitely be returning regularly now!
This little cafe has some charm, the place is clean and cozy, the cashier/server gentleman was nice and the food came out promptly. They have some unique recipes on their menu, and I really like their lentil soup.
Great wee place! Visited last Saturday and had the Cajun chicken ciabatta with a hot chocolate which were both absolutely delicious! Cakes delish too! Staff were all very lovely and service was super quick too 👏🏼

Better than any other cafe ,Restaurant in the whole of Inverclyde & probably further.. Delivery is great & the girl that delivers is just the nicest wee lassie..
Breakfast is just the best sausages are amazing. I've had the spaghetti Bolanise & the best sauce I have ever Tasted..

My wife and I got a takeaway steak sandwich and it was so good, we both loved it. The person that served us at the wee take away window was so nice to my dog and even gave him some chicken in exchange for a paw!
Will definitely be back again soon!
Can't thank The Cottage enough for the wonderful afternoon teas they supplied as a surprise for my sister's Birthday/Retirement. A lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes along with tasty sausage rolls and plain scones as requested (jam and cream included). Also loved the ones specially made for the children. My sister along with all the family thoroughly enjoyed our tasty treat. My thanks once again.

Happy to acknowledge the outstanding service provided by this excellent little bistro. On two recent occasions we had the opportunity to order and then really enjoy some of its takeaway meals. The ordering procedure was easy and the care and attention of the staff was exceptional. We can heartily recommend the Open Steak Sandwich and the Black Pudding Salad. Top marks all round.
Fantastic staff and food was lovely. Staff helped me out with a collection order after confusion on my part with collection times. Very grateful.

Visited today for lunch, delighted we could take our puppy in. He was treated to a bowl of water and biscuits! Great food, love the new menu and the amount of choice for vegetarians like me. Had the halloumi burger, delicious and so reasonable in price. Will make sure to visit again soon.
Gorgeous food ,really nice service and very very helpful and friendly staff, I ordered a delivery and just one thing was missing, they sent the driver straight back up with it plus 2 free slices of cake with a little message saying "sorry x "
Went here today on our coffee and cake tour, really impressed, my friend and I had toasties and our oldies 😂 had fresh baked fruit scones. Staff were lovely, food was lovely and the price was really reasonable. Will definitely be back.
