Cafe Balfe - Greenock - Photo album

This place is a Greenock institution - it’s been here for years. The food is ok, the drinks are fine, the service is ok. A few mistakes were made with orders but these were quickly solved. I used to adore the open steak sandwich but it’s not the same quantity of steak as it was (but then…this was
Great establishment with lots of offerings on the menu. Was very busy when we visited. Food was prepared quickly, was tasty and plentiful and very reasonably priced. Asparagus soup and toasted Cajun chicken sandwich were delicious.
Delicious food as always. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit.
No surprises here. Just a simple but well executed baked potato with chilli and cheese. I just wish there were more food alternatives on West Blackhall Street (or Greenock in general).
One of our favourite family town centre restaurants. Great food, good sized portions, excellent value for money. Its a popular place, nice family atmosphere at all times of day and eavning, good for pre theatre meals. Although busy, the service is good, staff are pleasant and very attentive. A repea
Good place for a lunch. Wide variety of dishes in the menu. All the food we ordered was great. Family atmosphere.
Excellent place for food, it's amazing, no bad things to say about it!!!
Great portions of tasty food. Nice, friendly staff. Good variety of choices on the menu. It's always a pleasure to dine at Cafe Balfe.
Bit disappointing at times. Asked for a blt toastie, got a sandwich. I started to eat it cos I was hungry. It was tasteless! Bacon tasted like it was cooked it water & water on the salad. Other foods are over spiced at times, I like spice, but way too much and over garlicky. Staff are friendly.
The staff where great and joined in when welcoming my father there for his birthday 🎂, even joined in singing happy birthday @
Had a nice meal here. Wife had scampi and chips and I had the Caesar salad served with chicken and bacon which had proper chicken and not reconstituted. Staff helpful and friendly. Some customers didn't seem able to read the signage, masks, signing in etc which ultimately is owners responsibility ho
The food was excellent. The staff were brilliant, as usual. Great at communicating with their customers. Would highly recommend Cafe Balfe
Nice clean friendly place, we had lunch, macaroni cheese and enchiladas. Was very tasty and will definitely be back...
Went last night with friends for meal. Usually I extensively pure 8 plan every meal out due to being vegan but thought I'd just hope for the best, thankfully they had a couple of options! For the starter I had bruschetta, followed by a superfood salad minus the dressing with fries on the side. It wa
Lovely lunch, chicken burger with added Brie and caramelised onions. Staff all friendly and happy to take us without a booking even if it meant a bit of juggling tables.
I had a steak pie, veg and mash. The atmosphere was nice and very clean. the tables though, although lovely, they can be a bit big/bulky and too close to the built in chairs (on wall), me and partner both knocked our knees on the table leg when sitting down. And the elderly man sitting next to us fo
