This was a really nice place, getting to customise your currys spiciness and having options to add on. The curry itself had a really nice flavour and the combination of the egg and rice was really good. The pork was nice but a little over cooked so was a bit tough. The batter for it also wasn't real
Decent prices, great service and good food! There was a short line when we arrived but we didn’t wait long to be seated. We ordered the Okra and Tofu omelette curry and the Pork Katsu omelette curry. Both were quite good, I’d definitely recommend the omelette version as it compliments the dish very
Fast and delicious! I've ordered and not even 2 minutes it was in front of me! Steaming hot crispy chicken and stringy cheese, fluffy rice! Tangy Japanese dressing on the salat. Had to wait maybe 5 minutes for a seat as the restaurant was busy but it was very organised and clean. The staff was very
Really good standard Japanese curry. I like how you can adjust the spice level of the curry and the variety of toppings for such a simple dish. I decided to try the basic chicken katsu with omelet and it did not disappoint. Lovely wait staff and cute atmosphere.
The omlette + chicken katsu (£15.40) was delicious and so was the chicken katsu with veg (£15.90). However I wouldn't recommend getting the cheese naan as it wasn't really naan and was more crispy flatbread with cheese in the middle (it also cost £3.90 so our expectations were somewhat high). Over
A friend suggest we go here for the TikTok popular Katsu and omelette. There was a que outside however it went super fast and we were seated quickly. Food was decent, would definitely add this to my comfort food folder
Amazing! Just like being back in Japan. I had the chicken katsu with cheese at the maximum heat level. It was very flavourful, very delicious. The heat was a good level of heat, as I like spicy food. The service was 10/10. Although we had to wait a little to get a seat for 3 people. They kept us up
First time at CoCo Ichibanya and it was a great experience! The staff were very friendly and patient and the Pork Katsu Omelette Curry I had was delicious, the spice was perfect. It’s quite a small branch so it’s likely you’ll need to wait a short while for seating. Nonetheless, I’ll definitely come
Had to wait outside for 10-15 minutes due to the restaurant being small, but once inside the wait time for food was very quick and the quality was amazing! The curry’s tasted homemade and authentic, and the pork katsu and chicken katsu were crispy and light! Would definitely recommend!
This place is SO GOOD!! Cannot recommend it enough. The menu is extensive with so many options for customising your meal, staff are friendly and service is super quick!! Great veggie options too!! Would recommend the okra and tofu curry!
1 of my fav Japanese chained restaurant. Value for Money, authentic Japanese katsu curry. I've chosen the seafood curry 🦐🦑 with sliky egg🥚 wrapped around the rice and I've added an extra piece of Pork cutlet Katsu 🐖 and cheeeeeseee 🧀 Spice level 3 🌶. It was gooood
Best chicken katsu curry I've ever had. The food is delicious, it arrives quickly, the staff attentive. Ticks so many boxes. I had spice level 2 which is about the same as a Wagamama chicken katsu curry. The person I was with had spice level 3 and that was even tasitier. I'd recommend being ambitiou
I was on my way to Chinatown to eat xlb when I saw Coco Ichibanya by chance. I love it since way back. The ambience is really nice but the curry is the best! Will definitely come back.
Beautiful curry, amazing hospitality, and a wonderful atmosphere overall. Definitely will be coming back, and this establishment has definitely earned its name of ‘一番や‘, or ichibanya, which roughly means ‘number 1’.
It was my favourite curry shop when I lived in Japan. I was really happy to be able to eat it in London. It kept the Japanese taste and Chicken Katsu were very crispy and tasty. The UK is a fierce battleground for curry, so it's great to be able to compete with that. The service was also good.
Best curry I've ever had! The portion sizes were great for me and my mum and the service was super quick since we got there very shortly after it opened. I'll definitely be coming back whenever I'm in London.
Feels like going to one of the locations they've got in Japan, good curry for a decent price. Sadly no way to book a table and there can be a line depending on when you go.
