Looked up on TripAdvisor for a good near by place for a cream tea. Not at all disappointed! The place is decorated with lots of bunting and cute signs. We were the only ones there and had the place to ourselves. My brother only likes plain scones and that's what we got! Warm too. Came with strawberries as well, which you don't get in most places. Will book an afternoon tea at some point in the near future. Thank you!

My daughter treated me to an afternoon tea at Petals as a thank you. I had no idea where we were going (from Chelmsford) and it was quite a drive but beautiful countryside. Our greeting was very friendly and it was lovely to see our tea (pre booked) had all been laid out ready for us, it made us feel very welcome. We had my four week old granddaughter with us who was also made to feel really welcome and we were told not to worry about her making a little bit of noise when she was hungry. The table was laid out beautifully for us with so many goodies. We started with delicious sandwiches, egg mayonnaise, home cooked ham and tuna. Little quiches and sausage rolls were still warm from the oven. There was a lovely selection of cakes, iced orange cakes, cream meringues, millionaires shortbread and finally the scones with either butter and jam or cream and fresh strawberries finished it all off. We had the option of as much tea we could drink but we both preferred the home made lemonade. There was a little dish of sweets and the little chocolate heart were really thoughtful touches. We had so much to eat but it was all so lovely I didn't want it to end. Luckily the tea room is also full of lots of little nick nacks which were lovely to look around in the middle of our tea. All the people in the garden centre were just as friendly as in the tea room. Petals is well worth the lovely drive in the countryside and I will definitely be visiting again, it has been a very enjoyable afternoon.

The best ever tea room I have been to! Came for lunch with my Dad and the food was amazing - the setting is perfect and I felt very welcome. Another couple were given trays so they could sit and eat their lunch in the comfy chairs - such a good idea! Can't wait to take my Mum!

What a charming little find in the wilds of rural Essex. A beautiful tea room that makes you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. The food is delicious and the cakes leave you wishing you'd left room for another slice!

Great little place, if a little tight on room. There is so much to see and buy. They were busy with Christmas hamper packing, which were for sale. Had afternoon tea there a while back and decided to visit again. This time, choosing off of the menu. All 4 choices were good, and the cakes to follow were delicious. All of which are homemade, as are the scones. Would definitely recommend a visit. Will be going again.

By far my favourite tea room in the area. Julie always looks after us when we go and the food is incredible. The afternoon tea is beautiful and perfect for any occasion (ive had many). The portions are very generous and you will never leave hungry, plus theres plenty of tea to keep you hydrated. Theres also lovely quirky items forsale throughout the tea room. Its like an aladins cave of beauty. It simply must be on your visit list ❤️

A quirky little tearoom we have been riding past for years, we heard some many good things about petals tearoom so the wife and I popped in for lunch 11/2/23. Staff were nice and polite food is freshly cooked ( not one microwave in sight) as it says on the menu. I would recommend this tearoom to all . Great value for ££
