We popped in for Sunday carvery and weren't disappointed! Lots of choice of meats and loads of vegetables to choose from too! The staff were very accommodating with my 3yr old granddaughter too. We were so full we needed a doggy-bag and were disappointingly too full for pudding...

Brilliant place for lunch, everything was delicious & big portions! The homemade cheese scones are the best we had in Devon.

This is a great little place to eat in Torrington that I don't really want people to know about, but also do. As it's quite small (in the winter due to the garden not being used) it makes getting a table challenging, so book before you arrive. But the food is lovely, doesn't matter if it's just the soup or their steaks, the scones to the cakes. It's all lovely..

We called in specifically looking for cream teas, but being gone half 2 it was a bit late and they only had one fruit scone left. They offered us a savoury cream tea as an alternative. I wasn't disappointed, the scones were home made and lovely and fresh. A really friendly couple run the place, which seemed to be a bit of a hub for locals. Overall a good experience.

Delicious meal and drinks tonight in this cosy and relaxing bistro - the chicken strips & wedges were amazing!!! The hosts are friendly, welcoming and passionate which is everything you want. The cocktail and nibbling menu will definitely entice us the next time we visit, which will be soon. Many thanks Jamie and Claire.

Top marks for No. 37 Bistro on South Street in Great Torrington. After a morning exploring the familiar gardens at RHS Rosemoor, we decided to venture into the less familiar streets of the nearby town. Partly by virtue of being advertised as open and not far away from a large car park, we decided to try this place for lunch. All of our party were delighted with generous portions of good food along with excellent and friendly service. I went for the “ploughmans”, which was an ample meal. It wasn’t quite what I’d call a regular “ploughmans” & I don’t think I’ve had one before that came with two fancy salads rather than a few lettuce leaves & but it was excellent and I’ll not be needing much in the way of dinner tonight. Highly recommended.
