Fantastic place. We couldn’t fault it in anyway. The pub, food, ambience and staff were all top class. Our dog was made very welcome and they even had a dog menu! The food was too die for. Would 100% recommend. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would definitely go back there again and stay longer next time.

Just enjoyed a lovely meal and stay here. Everybody made us feel so welcome. Enjoyed a cup of tea on our arrival in the cosy bar before being shown to our Garden Room which was just lovely. Had a very enjoyable evening meal, the menu was interesting, a steak cooked as requested and the game sausage dish from the specials board so tasty. The carrot cake pudding dish was delicious and quirky with the carrot ice cream -just wished I’d had room to finish it all! A comfortable night and an extensive breakfast menu to choose from the following morning finished off a really enjoyable stay, where nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, we hope to come back to see you again.

We stopped here on our way home for an evening meal. The food was excellent; the chef is inspiring: I had the steak, my wife the vegetarian curry. The staff are considerate, kind and attentive. We’ll be back!

I was in Dawn Symonds group and completely agree with her comments. It was so impressive to experience the consistently high quality of the food and as for the breakfast: unbeatable! I feel I should rein back on my enthusiasm because it's just going to get so difficult to get a reservation at this rate.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Was lovely. Room was comfortable with little extras such as the home made vodka. Ate the restaurant each night, and food was amazing - well presented and very tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Will be back.

Dropped in for lunch on a Bank Holiday Sunday and was lucky enough to get a table for four as it was very busy. This place is absolutely amazing. Great food in a great location. My Pheasant Burger with an ice cold San Miguel was undeniably fabulous! The other three meals of Vegan Souvlaki, Massingham Beef Burger and Nut Loaf were equally delicious. Highly recommended and will return 👍

Just had the most delicious roast here. Pink beef, giant Yorkshire pudding, the best gravy and some interesting (in a really good way) veg. Big portions but high quality. The desserts were amazing too. We had sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream and peanut brittle - such a good combination. Perfect food and perfect service. If we lived closer we would be here every Sunday. It was very busy so glad we had booked. Very impressed how fast the service was though. Thank you Dabbling Duck!

I have just enjoyed the best pub lunch that I can remember! Food ranged from pub classics to serious restaurant food - our table enjoyed some of each. Beer and service were perfect. It's a long drive from where we live, but really well worth it.

Simply a great place for a delicious hearty meal be it a a fish and chips or the veggie option. Pair your meal with a local lager and maybe even enjoy playing a cards game in the library in the back. Must have the chunky chips. I’d even venture to have some dessert. When in Massingham 🤷🏻‍♂️

The staff in here were so lovely and made it a really enjoyable lunch. The crispy chilli beef was soooo good, ten times better than anything you would get from a take away. I had the burger as my main which was great, really juicy and filling with lots of chips.

We travelled from Lincolnshire to meet family from Suffolk - it was a great mid point. Situated in a very pretty village, a warm welcome awaited us. Attentive, courteous staff, comfortable spacious restaurant and bar, a great beer selection and friendly locals set the scene. The lunch menu was the best I've seen in ages something to suit everyone, beautifully served and executed. My starter was golden beetroot with a goats cheese mousse, chicory leaves and a gremolata dressing - it was delicious, followed by a duo of venison with root vegetables, stunning in taste and beautifully presented. We are planning our next trip!!

Fantastic proper pub with a gastro twist. Real warm pub with fires and cheerful staff. Once you've had a pint go and eat in the restaurant! The food is rubbing shoulders with a Michelin star but at average high street prices. Real gem of a place.

Food very good, staff very friendly, the car park was full so we had to park on the road outside, service was a little slow but worth the wait :)

Lovely place to stay. Food outstanding. Loved the vodka sample in room. However tried that and forgot our champagne that hubby brought and left behind. 😔

The dabbling duck has a great atmosphere, and the food is very well done. I had the pulled pork burger, and it was delicious along with a homemade red cabbage slaw and very good french fries. My friends all enjoyed their meals or venison, winter salad, and prawn curry. It was very busy in there, which is good to see, but this did mean service was slower. We sat down in 2015 and only had one course and coffee and left at just after 2230. But we were there to celebrate, so it worked out okay for us. Highly recommend the summer pizza menu wirh woodfired Pizza Oven making some cracking 👌 nosh. Ita a beautiful pub in a stunning village,in my opinion nicer than the usual Burnham Market squad.

We went for lunch in Norfolk Restaurant Week. Excellent starter - we both had chicken liver parfait; main course - braised belly of pork and beer battered haddock, both most enjoyable. Couldn't manage a dessert!! Service little on the slow side, but was polite and cheerful and we weren't in a hurry anyway. Recommend a visit.

We had a lovely room in the house they own next to the pub. Food is ok a bit expensive for what you get. Lovely village was an old RAF WW2 BASE runway still there.
