Went here for a last minute meal. Didn't have to book. Wasn't too busy, friendly staff, nice layout, clean toilets, quite cheap! We had the burger which was amazing value for money at only 7 quid and it comes with chips and salad and it was AMAZING, one of the best burgers we have ever had! So, meal
Popped in here for a drink and a bite to eat when visiting nearby Shugborough. Glad we did as the hot beef sandwiches were delicious and they have a great selection of beers. Staff were helpful and friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere 😊
Proper pub atmosphere with good people, a good selection of drinks to choose from and excellent service, and good quality, well presented, good value food too. The well balanced standard menu is complemented with a "Specials" menu which is updated every day. Friendly sociable regular local patrons i
Nice pub good seating area nice and friendly place to stop for a drink nice cold beer on a nice sunny warm day. Good views
We've had 2 lovely meals in here in recent weeks. Food was very good, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The real ales went down with no problem at all. Really nice pub atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Proper local pub, complete with locals, sat at the bar talking over a pint. The way pubs used to be and wish there were more of these little diamonds still about. Prices were decent, and staff were welcoming, as were the other pub users. We didn't try the food but the restaurant offered a good menu.
I had ham, egg and chips and there was loads of freshly carved ham with it. Chips were great, the egg was perfectly fried and the salad was fresh. A pretty much perfect meal! Service was friendly and timely and there was a great selection of ales too.
Called in here while we were passing on the canal. We were not disappointed, the food was brilliant, the staff were great. It was very busy and the bar staff were serving several people at once, clearing the queue very quickly. My first pint wasn't good, but the Bass was really nice. We had the bb
Excellent service, good hot food (plaice, chips and peas) and nice wine. Very quiet in the restaurant but the bar was livelier. Great value for money.
Friendly staff, plenty of parking separate drinking and eating areas each with their own bar good pub grub mind the fish is breaded rather than battered
Lovely pub, good sized beer garden, good food, good choice of drinks. Would have got 5 stars if it wasn't for one staff member who preferred to serve regulars rather than anyone else. I stood at the bar waiting to order food a good 10 minutes before another lady came behind the bar and finally serve
Lovely traditional pub with a lovely beer garden. (Tables could do with some brollies... it was very warm) Food served....good choice of menu and food tasty.... just wished it was ''real'' chips. Would've got 5 stars had it not been for the one staff member behind the bar. Rude and clearly didn't
Visited with a group of 10, seated at two tables in the restaurant. Food and drink arrived promptly and was very tasty. Two desserts were good too.
Had a couple of good night's in the pub didn't have any food so I cannot rate it although I saw other people's plated food and it did look very good Nice atmosphere all round
Love the pub, especially the restaurant, and the staff are constantly helpful and welcoming. Always find time to eat here every time we visit our narrowboat. The meals are wholesome with large portions and look great when they reach the table, plus being hot. Choosing which three flavours of ice cre
Great home cooked food a short walk from the canal, ideal if you're on a boating holiday.
A really nice traditional village pub, the food is excellent. Dog friendly too.
