Had a nice impromptu Sunday Lunch here yesterday. Service was outstanding, friendly staff & nothing too much trouble. The food was amazing!! Would definitely recommend for a lovely meal & lovely surroundings
Called in on the way back from Chelmsford. Very friendly staff. Food was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. Ample portions and reasonably priced. Would recommend this pub.
The food was the best I've ever tasted. The staff were effiecent and polite. Could not fault the food or hospitality. They were very welcoming and we're available to assist with the disabled entrance.
1/8/18 ... My burger was amazing, my wife and my dad had the steak 🥩 which was perfect.. and I’m a butcher! 👍🏼 I can’t remember the name of the lady that served us but she was amazing! And I’m pretty sure she was on the own! Great chefs and staff so we will definitely be back

Lovely meal for 6 of us. We do regular meet ups with one of us from as far as Old Leake Lincolnshire. The menu looked lovely and a specials menu too. Scallops and red mullet I had. Was presented and cooked wonderfully. Friendly helpful service. Even donkeys out in the field of the back car park.
We would happily return.

Lovely pub, clean and renovated pub/restaurants. Andy and Julie are so welcoming. Can't wait to go back again. Great choice of wine, beers and lager. Booked for Sunday lunch and wasn't disappointed. Great menu choices including gluten and dairy-free if required. Highly recommend a visit, children's play area outside and donkeys to pet also.
I was pleased to see this pub was open as it had been closed when a friend went passed many months ago ( probably due to covid?)
Today (Friday 8th) it is now fully open, and so we went in.
A village bar feel with a separate eating area - the food and service were excellent. I had a beautifully cooked medium rare steak and my friends both had the salad - again nicely presented dishes and enjoyed immensely by both and a good choice of deserts to follow.
Nothing was too much trouble for our waitress even though the dining area was getting quite busy by now.
I noticed (as we were sitting by a large window) the play area outside with plenty of kiddie size peddle play things, tractor, bikes, and scooters - slide and swing - in a relatively safe garden area, with seating for eating outside - it could have a gate to close it off from the car parking- but I didn't see one from where I was sitting.......

One of the best sunday roasts i’ve had in Essex! the crackliest crackling, roast tatties to die for and and delicious gravy poured over a moist bird! The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and jovial - we will definitely be back 👍

Met friends for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely, plenty of meat on the Sunday roast, nice selection of vegetables and a rich, thick, tasty gravy. Some fab desserts too! Friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated. We look forward to returning.

We visited The Butchers Arms last week for a meal, as friends of ours regularly rave about this place and the food, so we thought we would give it a try. We were certainly not disappointed. The food is absolutely delicious and we were so full when we finally left to go home.
The grounds are clean, charming and inviting. The service was brilliant. The interior is very well presented with a modern feel. The beer garden is spacious and not cramped at all. They have a good menu and selection of beer. The food portions are large and I actually struggled to finish my plate lol. A pet peeve of mine is receiving 'designer sized' portions from restaurants nowadays! But this place is great value for money and it will be one of our regular places to eat now too.
If you have children, then there are plenty of things in the garden for them to do. And they have sweet donkeys too in the next field which is nice to see.
The landlord and landlady are very friendly and helpful - they couldn't do enough for you and made sure that our meal and everything else was fine. We find that good service like this is rare now, so this is definitely a place that we will be returning to, and very soon too!
Super little pub with great pub grub. Great menu with loads of choice. Food is very good and no complaints from us at all. Reasonablly priced too. The staff and landlords were so friendly. Nice atmosphere and nice surroundings. Very clean and presented inside. Would highly recommend to others for a meal out. Many other places are just too expensive now but we will most certainly come back to this pub.
