Lovely hotel, good for exploring the area. Room was clean, big bed, was a 4 poster. Bathroom was spotless. Evening meal was good lots to choose from. Breakfast is really good and lots off it. Lady who served us is fantastic. Can't do enough for everyone in the dining room. All the staff were very f
Stopped for lunch by chance en-route. Turned out to be a great decision, by me! Food was proper good old pub grub and deserves a huge mention. Service was excellent and I'd highly recommend the restaurant for a nice bite in friendly surroundings A++++
Best food I've had in a long time. Friendly staff and a lovely location. I'd drive back there just for the venison pie. Very good.
We have just returned after spending a couple of nights at the Wainstones Hotel. Although the rooms would benefit from some updating they were nice and warm with a comfy bed and lovely fluffy towels. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was also very good. Excellent selectio
Had a lovely dinner with a friend for his 90th birthday. He loved every minute. Said he would never forget this day. We came from Scotland to surprise him. Meal was lovely, fresh + hot with good size portions. Staff were nice + helpful.

Staff were all very lovely and helpful. Rooms were cosy and warm which is nice on a cold day to come into. Food menu was brilliant, lots of options for everyone and very tasty meals.
Went for our Christmas meal Food was okay but due to only one member of staff being on duty seemed to have been left under a heat lamp with the sauces being dried out Very disappointing Not what we were expecting
We stayed for 1 night the hotel is a little old fashioned but this was actually very nice. The bar was lively and our evening meal was really good. Breakfast was one of best in a long time fresh produce and beautifully cooked. Would recommend this hotel excellent location for touring the area and
Very kind lady, great lifts to clay bank top, fabulous food. Room cosy and well kitted out, carpets spongey nice on tired feet, the best salad packed lunches on the whole Coast to Coast route, excellent service by new staff team and Sean. They dealt with it very well when a minor error was made. Del
Staff here are brilliant....so friendly and very accommodating. Tracey in the restaurant is a complete legend who does everything she can to make sure you enjoy your food, at dinner or breakfast. Manager (sorry, don't know his name) equally friendly and helpful and finds time to chat to guests. Nice
Thanks for hosting our special day. All the staff were fantastic, food was brilliant and breakfast was superb. Really appreciate everything David and the team did for us and highly recommend them 😊
Lovely hotel, excellent food, helpful staff. Very accommodating of food intolerances.
We stopped here for a snack and a drink whilst waiting for our holiday accommodation to be ready. What a great place, Rachel was a great hostess and the food was amazing. How can a sandwich taste so lovely? And the chips were amazing, the best we've ever had..... we could only fault one thing.... o
We had a lovely 90th birthday party for my wife’s grandma at Wainstones recently. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the original ‘parmo’ which I’d been keen to try in Middlesbrough for a while. Service was excellent throughout the day.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The breakfast had plenty of choice cereal/porridge then various cooked breakfasts to choose from. The evening meal had plenty of choice all well cooked. We had 3 breakfasts and 3 evening meals and enjoyed them all. It is a great locati
Visited for Sunday lunch. The outside was untidy and the inside was a little dated. The staff were polite, friendly and efficient. The food was really good and for that alone I would definitely recommend and revisit.
