I love this place. The staff are lovely and helpful. The food has always been delicious. We’ve been here about 8/9 times now. Highly recommend to the point that I don’t want to recommend in case I won’t be able to get a table here in the future!!!
Having toured the area and eaten at pretty much all the recommended restaurants/pubs, I can honestly say that last night I had one of the best meals I've ever experienced. We've been all over to gastro pubs, boutique eateries and Michelin starred restaurants but nothing has compared to the flavours on offer here. So much thought has gone into the balance of tastes, textures and planning of the dishes, all cooked to perfection and presented in the same manner. Locally sourced ingredients and seasonal changes mean the menu is always updated and varied. I really cannot recommend an evening here strongly enough, its fabulous! Hats off to a truly talented chef! (And the rest of the staff who are excellent too!)
I own Stonehill Automotives and have been recommending Applegarth for around 10 weeks and the response and feedback we have got back is fantastic.
Today, I decided it was time I tried it myself, so together with my wife and a couple of our best friends we had lunch. We all agreed it was 'London quality' and both cooked and presented with style, the staff are fabulous and the surroundings great.
I can't recommend this highly enough and the only reason I've given them 5 stars is because I can't give 10.
Well done and in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, 'I'll be back'
Just started working at Greenacres Heatherley Wood and found this beautiful place. The Sunday BBQ was fantastic. Lovely staff. A must visit place.
We recently hired the cabin at applegarth for a 70th birthday celebration for my dad. We all had such a lovely time and all agreed the cabin was such a lovely space to have a private function. All of the food was amazing from the canapés to the desserts. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would thoroughly recommend applegarth to anybody looking for good food and a great atmosphere. Thank you for making our evening so special. I will definitely be back I only wished I lived nearer.
We booked evening in the private cabin organised through Debs who was on the ball and easy to deal with. The cabin was beautiful, cosy and nicely decorated with large table that enabled everyone to join in conversations and not feel left out on the end
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were very enjoyable apparently by those that had a few! and The wine was good to.
The staff, Mel and her team were friendly, attentive but not obtrusive, they did a marvellous job looking after us all.
Thank you all for such a great evening. I would recommend dining in the cabin but also the restaurant with its shabby, chic rustic feel it's gorgeous. They do good breakfast too !
Very friendly service - best vegetarian breakfast I have had.
The full English looked amazing and willing to substitute products with others.
Very good value for money.
I visited With my Daughter and Husband last Sunday and we had breakfast
The food was delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming
Lovely place. Thank you for a great visit
We have eaten there a number of times and every visit just amazes me, the quality of the food is amazing, the menus are great and the staff are attentive, everthing about this fabulous place is brilluant and I love It, congrats to all the staff.
Superb restaurant, amazing food based on the principle of great ingredients not covering up poor ingredients with fancy sauces. Had beef wellington there on Saturday. I don't even eat much red meat and never buy it in a restaurant unless I trust where it might have come from. I was not disappointed. Amazing melt in the mouth beef, absolutely superb. Even the side vegetables were amazing. How can a simple carrot taste so good, so real. Probably because it's grown well from a known source and not boiled to death as most restaurants do. My mouth is still watering from that meal. Highly recommended.
Easily one of the best meals I've had out in a long time! Couldn't recommend the Summer Sunday BBQ highly enough.
Had a celebration lunch in the private cabin today for Dads 80th, the cabin is lovely, our waitress was a little gem!! Food was great!! No complaints what so ever! We will be back for our family Christmas get together
Many thanks
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff in the restaurant - would definitely recommend.
Our first time at Applegarth. The food was wonderful. Lovely soup which tasted amazing and the chicken club sandwiches were lovely. Will definitely go again soon. Great farm shop with a wonderful delicatessen
Fantastic service and amazing food....I especially enjoyed the Peach and Elderflower crumble....the shop also had some lovely food and gifts to buy.....will definitely be returning!
Great spot to grab a light lunch before a funeral down the road at GreenAcres.
All clearly homemade, lovely tasting and great rustic atmosphere.
Whats not to like? £6 for a very tasty but small sausage roll. Homemade, yes. £6, no.
£101 for 7 of us hence the one star off.
Really exceptionally good espresso (I had two, just to make sure) and an amazingly chargrilled bacon sandwich on sourdough which I can still taste now. Fantastic
A lovely little farm shop with a cafe. The soup, cake & coffee are yummy, so I must return to sample more. Rumour has it that their breakfasts are very tasty too. A good selection of produce for sale in the shop. There is also a fish truck on a Thursday lunchtime which sells a fantastic selection of the best fish & seafood.
Myself and a group of 4 visited Applegarth for a late breakfast. Lovely day for it so we were able to sit outside. The area was clean and tidy with a lovely atmosphere.
As soon as we sat down we were attended on my one of the staff. They were very knowledgeable of the menu and a few dietary requirements for the group.
Food was perfect, I had the sausage sandwich which was great value for the size of the portion. All came out as described and tasted amazing!!
Can’t wait to comeback and would highly recommend a visit!!
Came for lunch, food was really tasty and absolutely no complaints. The waiting staff although friendly, were not good and lacked the basic understanding of service. Drinks sat on the bar waiting to be brought to the table, whilst you ate your food without your drink, when serving they crossed in front of you, one passing her sleeve across my food. Coffee served with the option of sugar but no spoons, removal of plates when you were still eating. Basic things that let the place down.
We have just moved very close by and are very happy that we have Applegarth Farm! Fabulous food today.
The Ploughman's is very good and filing. Very friendly staff and service. The decor could have a "refresh" in places but I'm just hyper-fussy with regards to decor being an Interior Designer!
Coffee is delicious by the way. Will be back.
Wonderful coffee, very tasty and always hot
Breakfast is lovely. There is a large menu choice and selection of additional items, all beautifully presented.
Looks good, tastes good.
Our daughters took my wife and me out for lunch for our golden wedding anniversary an my wife chose Applegarth as it's just down the road.
It was easy to book and we were given a good table and a highchair for our 3month old grandson. The food was superb, my wife and daughter having one of the best burgers they had eaten for a long time. I had a half BBQ ribs which was wonderful. The service was quick, efficient and courteous. All in all a very happy and enjoyable lunch.
Full marks Applegarth.
Thank you to Charlotte and the team at Applegarth for making us so welcome. We booked the dining cabin for a 60 th birthday celebration. It was the perfect setting and the food was delicious, as always. Great service.
Lovely food. I stopped in here for a salad box and wasn't disappointed. Under £5 for a beautiful gourmet salad. It included red cabbage salad, remolade celeriac salad and roasted vegetables (butternut and red onion)
I chose 2 slices of rare beef to accompany it and it was all incredible. Flavour was amazing I will be coming back. Thank you. The lady who served was very efficient and friendly. I got a couple of cheeses too. One had won world awards. Perfect for guests!
What a surprise!
We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary by coming here in August. Initially coming for breakfast (Applegarth has a good reputation for its breakfasts) we learned CoVid restrictions mean there's no breakfast for the moment.
We had coffee on the covered decking as we watched the studios opening up, then went off to shop in Grayshott before returning for lunch (table booked, as it's popular despite not being packed) which was the surprise-
It's all about flavour in the Applegarth Restaurant, so you'd be forgiven for expecting small servings. You won't get them, the portions are very generous (probably due to the local and home-grown produce reducing costs)
Check the meaty filling in that half-eaten pie (the wife was attacking it before I'd finished my photos!)
Leafy greens are grown in planting towers onsite, that require hardly any groundspace and much less care than traditionally grown produce. Environmentally sound and noticeable in the flavour, this gives Applegarth an advantage over other farms and restaurants. The staff knew we were coming for an Anniversary (I'd emailed but not booked) so they booked the table and gave us an Anniversary card, how lovely!
The shop (not pictured) is packed with great quality local and homegrown produce at sensible prices (it's not your budget supermarket of mass produced longlife stock, but it's definitely not going to break the bank either. I'm a low paid worker and I was happy) and outdoors has comfortable seating in beautiful surroundings. Check the website for upcoming events, cooking classes, theme evenings. The center attraction for the garden is a pergola which has the outdoor kitchen in the summer (I'm looking forward to enjoying pizzas there in a few months!)
What a lovely way to spend an anniversary, enjoying delicious food served by happy and friendly staff.
We'll be back soon, the summer dining and outdoor pizzas can wait
An amazing Sunday barbecue with deli salad set in a fabulous family friendly setting. The food was the best in the area and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and laid back with is. We were a party of 10 seated in the garden. Lively play area for the kids with a hen, a large rabbit and guinea pigs for company! Lots of boutique arts and crafts shops on site who were also very happy to have a visit from the kids.
Great meal and good service. Was 18 of us and we all loved it so will definitely go there again
Nice food in a lovely setting. The farm shop is great with a good variety of produce.
Having heard good things about Applegarth, we popped in there today for an unplanned lunch and we weren't disappointed.
The staff were very helpful and attentive and the restaurant itself was spotless and a lovely relaxing place to eat.
The food was fresh and delicious and was obviously made from products sold in the farm shop - I had a ploughman's with one of the best pork pies I've had, cheese, ham and pickles. My friends had soup, which was a spicy carrot and was very much enjoyed! It was all beautifully presented.
There was a great choice on the menu and I look forward to returning to try some more.
Quintessentially British dishes, which were well cooked and friendly staff. Every town should aspire to having a farm restaurant such as Applegarth. Overall great experience and recommend to others.
