This small, family run business is my favourite place in Grays for a tasty lunch. The chickpea and potato ricebox (available Thurs and Fri) is so delicious and never fails to satisfy. Rebecca gives great service and is always happy to have a chat. Their coffee is great too! Can't recommend enough!
Popped in a few times over this year and always had wonderful service, well prepared fresh food, tasty hot coffee and the occasional pain au chocolate when they haven't sold out. It's a little out of the way from the high street, but well worth a few extra steps around towards the main entrance of Grays Train Station to go there.
Amazing place, ordered for over a year now and never had a bad order, staff are lovely and helpful and it’s just a very underrated cafe that needs more attention. 10/10.
Was just in here a few hours ago, the lady behind the counter was very professional and helpful, I saw her her treat all the customers that came in with the same professionlism and helpful manner that she did with me and the family, would definitely go back.
Best breakfast wrap. Family run small business with limited food on the menu but very tasty and fresh. The chef/owner of the cafe is friendly and tries to accommodate as per customers’ taste bud. Quick service. 👍🏽
Our first trip to the Gurkha Cookhouse tonight. Thoroughly enjoyable. Simpe yet tasty food, available at a very decent price.
Tonight we had the Combo for 2 people (£14.99) which included 1 x Egg Fried Rice, 1 x Chicken Curry, 2 x Parathas, 1 x Chicken Momos. We also added on some Spring Rolls and some pan friend Pork Momos.
The chicken curry was fantastic. Mildly spicy, but full of flavour and a great sauce. Nice sizeable chunks of chicken also. The rice was full of flavour, and made a great accompaniment to the curry. The momos were all great, with a nice meaty flavour on the pork and chicken. The momo dough was a nice density, not too thick, but light and airy and a pleasure to eat.
To top it off, the place is nice and quiet. There are only a few tables, making it a really relaxed venue. The menu is small, but the dishes they do they do very well. We both could have eaten plenty more, but decided to save ourselves for our next visit.
I went there yeaterday. And i as the other people was shocked by the quality of the food. Its simply amazing freshly made. Very nice flatbreads, amazing chips very soft and tasty. The samosas are supreme as well with fresh vegetablea. And just a bit spicy, not overwhelming. The staff was amazing, extremly polite. I go back again for sure. Highly Recommended. Its not a coincidence that it has a 5 star rating
I've eaten here twice already since their recent opening and the food was always fantastic. The staff are very friendly and happy to chat with you whilst you're waiting for your food.
I have had a lot of Nepalese curry during my time in the army alongside Gurkhas so I'm happy to say that this place really is great and I'll definitely be eating here often.
I highly recommend this place!
Great momos and chowmein! Paratha is my absolute favourite. I love their food packaging as well. Very convinient to eat at home or on the go. When I asked them about their menu , the lady was very warm and patiently explained us how they have changing menus. :) highly recommend for a fun food experience
Ordering is always a bit confusing here, but chicken curry is worth visiting. Edit: My recent visit for my chicken curry fix, they mentioned my review regarding the confusion on ordering and have taken my opinions on why I thought the ordering/menu layout was confusing. Good to see that they are actively promoting their food and service.
