Brilliant cafe to visit if you're ever in Grasmere! Stumbled across Harley's and wasn't sure what to expect but really pleased we did! Staff were extremely helpful, and there was a great selection of tea/coffee, beers/wines/spirits, hot food and cake. They had the best selection of Gluten free cakes and puddings! The warmed up GF apple pie and ice-cream is excellent! Milkshakes looked great too! They're dog friendly, so make sure to pop in if you're passing!

Dog friendly. Loved the breakfast, I could have eaten more the only downside was toast not included so imo not a full breakfast. Went back for cocktails 🤪 and the milkshakes looked nice too. Staff really friendly. 3 stars for Atmosphere is purely because there wasnt many people there when we went, we will be going back.

This food is beautiful. Scotch broth and such amazing bread to accompany it. I’m a strong believer if they can get the basics right the rest must be lovely too. This place is dog friendly ♥️

Just came in for a coffee, but returned an hour later and had lunch. Staff very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The food was off the specials menu was delicious and very reasonably priced. It has a well stocked bar with a range of fraught beers. No need to look anywhere else!

Really Nice food, most decently priced restaurant in Grasmere. We had the dirty fries with duck and the Pulled pork on flat bread.

First place we jumped in after getting off the bus from bowness and was pleasantly surprise. Delightful service, ordered two children’s meals along with clumberland ham sandwich and Greek salad and potato wedges… would recommend. If you have a four legged friend they seems to be recommended.

A very nice full English in a lovely converted church, it's a nice place to sit and relax, if it wasnt for their choice of music which I will get to later in this review. It was quiet this morning when we visited but it does tend to get busy later on. There's plenty of options on their menu to suit most tastes, the only downsides are the fact that there is literally only one toilet and the music was Adele which personally I'm not a fan of. Having to sit and eat a nice meal listening to Adele screeching does not make for a relaxing atmosphere. I would have preferred just listening to some classical music which I think would have been far more fitting and appropriate with the church environment. Change your music!

Staff seemed nice enough, had a clean bathroom and baby changing which is great, the building is lovely and the place is clean. I had a latte and my wife a cappuccino. The latte tasted like one you'd get from a sache, it wasn't very nice, I don't think my wife enjoyed her cappuccino either. The breakfast was good apart from the sausages, both me and my wife ended up finding gristle in them, they also had quite a tough skin on them when cooked. The rest was fine though, the black pudding was lovely, egg was nicely done and the bacon, it was nice to have a tomato on there and mushroom, as well as the hash brown. So apart from the sausages it was a great breakfast. The coffee was a major let down for me though and was a deal breaker. They also sold fruit shoots for kids too so I'd say it's kid friendly. I would recommend giving this place a try because maybe this was just a one off. You might like it.

We visited Harley's during our trip to the lake district, and what a lovely place it is! Situated in Grasmere, and while there are other cafés/bistros available, here's why you should visit Harley's. We were sat down very quickly, and seen to for our drinks almost immediately. The general feel/vibe in the bistro is very relaxed, and as it was a rainy day we were very glad to get inside. I didn't get the name of our waiter, but he was so helpful and accommodating to us. There are vegan options available, and he talked us through them all and even said we could slightly tweak certain dishes to become vegan. We were also told that recently they changed their menu a little bit - this sometimes doesn't work but it absolutely has for Harley's. Their flatbread is nothing short of amazing! For dessert, we tried the fudge cake, and the star of the show - the vegan 'jaffa cake' cake. Whoever was responsible for the creation of this is a saint! Lastly, the prices are very reasonable in here, and there are even USB ports in the plug sockets on the tables to charge your phone.
