I had stopped going to this pub many years ago because quite frankly the food was not all that good. However, we were asked by friends to dine out one lunchtime and they chose the Rams Head. I was actually quite surprised, it has new owners since I had dined there previously, and we all had very nice meals and the staff were very friendly. It's in an excellent location in Grappenhall village and nicely decorated inside with lots of room. It also has a large carpark and outside eating area. I would be more than happy to dine there again.
Despite dining during what seemed a quiet period, service was polite but very slow. The food was tasty, not massive portions, just right. The menu selection was quite limited, but vegetarians are catered for. 2 mains, 2 soft drinks and a coffee came to around £35. We would go again, but not if we were restricted on time.
Nicely done up pub retaining some of its old charm. Sort of place you’d come for a family meal maybe or a couple of pints. Very nice vibe outside i huge front on the cobbles. A few real ales on. Large outside seating area. Quite a smart pub.
