Food is not only lovely with good portion sizes but presentation is good also. Afternoon tea and cakes is a must. Nice quiet setting where you relax whilst eating the fare. Outside catering for functions also available.
I have had a couple of experiences with Petticoats over recent months. The first being they catered for my marquee based wedding. Julie was fantastic, helping us with planning and providing everything we could possibly want and more. Nothing was too much trouble, and Julie went above and beyond in so many ways, including making a cake and getting a present for one of our young guests who’s birthday it was on the day. The pricing was unbelievable for the fantastic food and service we received. We received so many compliments from our guests regarding both the main and evening meals (even though the generator we provided wasn’t playing ball). The canapés were a particular favourite!
We returned over the weekend to celebrate my Mum’s 60th birthday and Petticoats didn’t disappoint - Fabulous food and brilliant service once again! Loads of food was provided and my mum took multiple trays of leftovers home. The atmosphere was brilliant and we will definitely be returning soon!
Amazing food, amazing staff and an amazing experience, we often go out for breakfast/lunch and this is by far the best in Grantham!!! Wish I could give 10 stars!
Just delightful. They have the post war theme spot on. Great WW2 newspaper posters on the wall. Service ladies in cute aprons. And the icing on the cake appropriate music. Ideal for targeting the 65+ market

I've always enjoyed eating at Petticoats, great food, lovely staff, so knew exactly where to get an afternoon tea when I had to isolate. They didn't disappoint. The freshest sandwiches with exquisite fillings, piping hot freshly baked scones and delicious cakes, ready and waiting for my husband to collect😋😋 Looking forward to isolation ending so I can visit again in person

1st time to this lovely place staff Very pleasant and helpful food was delicious to much to eat had to take top plate of cake's home with us . Had the afternoon tea for two with unlimited tea or coffee to drink. very nice surrounding clean and a joy to visit will return.
Lovely dog friendly tea room. Reminds me of having a cuppa with my Nanna during the summer holidays. We both had a lovely breakfast which was reasonably priced and very tasty. The dog was given a bowl of water and biscuits and made to feel very welcome. We'll be back again, next time for cake!

Enjoyed a lovely roast pork dinner and a heavenly, warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert! 😍 tucked into my food before I could take a photo 🙈 but we enjoyed a nice cup of tea after our meal. The atmosphere is lovely here, vintage feel, vintage music, even the waitresses are dressed in vintage attire! Lovely afternoon, will definitely be returning. Thank you Petticoats xx
Absolutely precious place! Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful people. If you are looking for a fantastic and authentic tea room, this is the place. Completely recommend, they were so nice and the food was so delicious!
I popped along to petticoats a couple of days ago, my first visit, and was looking for somewhere a little bit special for coffee and cake, it being my birthday..
A lovely atmosphere here, due in part to the 'old time' music, also nice spacious layout, light and airy, and of course the staff in their smart vintage uniforms! All very friendly, and an excellent range of cakes and sweets at very reasonable prices.
I happened to mention in conversation that it was my birthday, and was given an extra slice of cake, boxed, to take home with me!

Fantastic place to visit, the communication via messages on face book were very promptly anawered. We booked and had afternoon tea, the staff were really polite and catered for all our allergen needs. Everything was freshly made prior to our booked table arrival. Table was laid beautifully and vintage music playing in the background the scene was set making the atmosphere relaxing. Our party were slow eaters and we never felt rushed to finish. I would highly recommend. To all staff, Thank you for making our day great, we will definitely be coming back soon .... yum yum.
Felt welcomed from the moment I stepped in, great hosting. Food is nice and very well priced with a good selection of things to eat and drink. Didn't feel rushed to get our meals finished and the owner is really nice. Customer service is what people look for the most in places and it was spot on here!
