Lovely place to stay. Great for dog lovers. I stayed in a lodge which was great for my dog because there was no chance of him straying. Each of the lodges are fitted with a gate so I could get on with things without the worry of him wandering off out of sight. Food at the hotel is reasonably priced

Lovely hotel food fantastic and the staff very friendly and clearly want to deliver a five star service couldn't do enough for you important to us they were brilliant with our dog. It was very warm in the room but they gave us a fan which helped. Would definitely go back.
What a beautiful place the lodge was immaculate had everything you need. Staff all friendly. Are in the hotel one night food was lovely. Location is excellent very peaceful and quiet. Overall great time will definitely be back
Stayed for a local funeral. Evening meal not the best, a bit overcooked. Breakfast was sensational and the wake buffet was great. Service over all was brilliant.
Only booked for dinner, as staying at caravan club site. Very nice evening, also had our dog with us also warmly welcomed. Was seated at the window looking out over the gardens. It's such a lovely place to stay. We stayed in the hotel, and the rest of the family stayed in the lodges. Food in the hotel was great, and the lodges are well equipped.

Friendly helpful staff- very clean lodges. Comfortable weekend stay with option to have cooked meals at additional charge or self cater.
Very hilly round about and along a very narrow lane. Lots of woodland walks but bumpy terrain. Would not recommend for the elderly.

Ignore the previous complaints about food, those reviews are from a while ago and they have obviously seriously upped their game since with generous portions of fresh food. Called in for fish and chips and have to say they were the best I've had in years! The beer batter was crisp and almost tempura style is was so thin; the fish was firm, white and flavoursome. The staff were lovely and the location was fab.

Lodge was brilliant, roomy and clean. We only had 2 nights and had a meal (Xmas Dinner) in the hotel which was excellent and very reasonable. We live in Blackpool so only an hour or so away, but we hope to come again in the near future. Pity it rained for the 2 days but that's like everywhere.
