We had a lovely 2 night stay for my wife's birthday, staying in a superior room overlooking the bay, the room was large and the bathroom was clean and recently refurbished very nice.
We had dinner in the hotel on one night which again was very good, not a good selection of beers though only lager of
Thank you for a wonderful 2 nights stay. Great service, meals and spa treatments for my 50th birthday. It was so good in fact we booked a third night with spa session, evening meal, and full itinerary for the day,
UNFORTUNATELY, somewhat unprofessionally, the room booking was cancelled by the Nethe
Lovely hotel, a wee bit tired in places but clean with great staff and excellent food. A special shout out to Dennis in the bar for exceptional service and a wicked Irish coffee
Loved it . After a room change. Room 31 should be declined to to the proximity of the kitchen extractor fans. However the oak paneled reception rooms and tjier log fires and comfy couches are an exceptional place to spend a relaxing evening with a Malt whisky.
Lovely place for a break. Has a “family run” atmosphere despite being part of a large operation.
Nice Spa although it was a little crowded and there is a separate charge for its use.
Food pretty good. Service in the restaurant was slow on of the nights we were there but overall the place deserves a
Excellent place to stay, and to relax. Staff go above and beyond helpful, and are so pleasant and helpful. Hoping to come back again soon for a short break!
The room was a little tired and quite cold, the staff did provide an oil filled heater which helped. Our room was on the top floor and after a day of exploring, 3 flights of stairs is a big ask for my old legs.
The standard room didn't have a view and it was directly above the bins at the rear of th
Love this hotel friendly staff good food good atmosphere. go every year for Annie's (wife) birthday, this year we was trapped in the snow for 9 hours and Jack one of the staff frequently rang to see on our progress and kept our evening warm till we arrived. Would recommend if you want a friendly go
Absolutely gorgeous hotel . Spotless , historical, beautiful grounds . Meals were all good, amazing breakfast buffet . The staff all through out the hotel are wonderful and very professional, nothing is a bother for them. Our 4 night stay was 100% perfect and will definitely be back 😊
A step back in time to a more sedate and refined way of life. The staff were friendly, warm and persuasive, a drink turned into a meal that was hearty and did the trick. Will return.
A lovely spa day location. Conspicuous period building that is elevated from the road, and this makes for an impressive approach. Lovely Spa staff. Great facilities and the treatments were of a good standard.
The Hotel is very nice. But the room we had only a double bed and as my husband is over 6ft 2 the bed was a bit small.
Great hotel, staff excellent very attentive to everyone nothing is ever a problem.
Food also excellent.
Buffet breakfast is a must have.
Wow, what a gem! We booked a room here to rest up before driving onto Scotland, and we will be back just to stay at this hotel! The staff are super attentive and really helpful- the room was perfect for us. We were able to take dinner up to the room (food was great, had the bar menu). Really peacefu
Our new favourite place to stay. We had a spa break here, and from beginning to end we couldn't fault the staff who were kind and thoughtful, making our experience perfect. A beautiful old residence which is reflected in the bedrooms, but the spa has fantastic facilities including thermal steam room
Visited for dinner and was very impressed! I ate the braised leek in seaweed, king oyster mushrooms in teriyaki sauce, apple and blackberry mousse and petits fours. Everything was absolutely delicious, well cooked and beautifully served. The kitchen staff are to be commended and I highly recommend
Can't comment on the accommodation as we only went for lunch but the rooms I saw were excellent - library and drawing room. The service was great as was the food. The location was lovely, and as we are we could see right over Morecombe bay. Beautiful.
Afternoon tea was good, sandwiches, scones, cakes all for £21.99 fabulous views, wonderful old building with sympathetic extensions.
My partner and I visited the Lake District for the first time. We stayed at the netherwood for four days, two being in the rock house and two in the woodlands chalet.
The reception staff were very accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay.
The rock house is a simple but nice stay with an exc
