The Alverbank were kind enough to host our wedding last month and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From our very first meeting, Claire and the team were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and friendly, and took so much stress away from planning our day. They could not have done any more for us, exceeding our expectations in every single way possible. The chef at the Alverbank (Jack) is incredible - his food is honestly the best around and we have eaten here so many times now it's honestly my favourite place to go. To have him cater our wedding was a privilege and it was the most memorable and exquisite meal - Jack made suggestions and amendments to our choices which levelled them up to such a top tier choice, and it was perfect. The Alverbank went to great lengths to make our day perfect - even setting up the tables and function room completely for us and so much better than we could ever have done! It was such a surprise to be able to walk into our wedding reception and see such a beautiful set up and made it so special for us both. Not only the wedding, planning, meals, and hospitality, the accommodation at the venue is simply amazing. The honeymoon suite is most probably the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in, and that includes our 5-star hotel for honeymoon itself in Devon. It is stunning. The views are incredible, yet it feels private, luxurious, and comfortable. I could have stayed there for weeks!!
Our wedding was absolutely MADE by the team at the Alverbank. From the meal the night before, the breakfast the morning after, and the extra touches they made on the day (I noticed the tea lights and added chalk signs, the gift table, and how you coordinated the day so effortlessly, even though you did nothing to boast about these elements) - we are eternally grateful. The venue and team will hold a special place in our hearts forever more. Thank you for everything.
Beautiful little costal hotel with excellent restaurant in the middle of a dog friendly park. Fantastic views of the ocean. Room was comfortable (mattress was firm but I like that for my sleep). It's a historic building so expect creaks and squeaks but that's part of its character.
Activities include walking the beach and the park. Very relaxing.
Claire and the team at the Alverbank were top class, and truly made our wedding special, nothing was too much trouble and all guests commented on the amazing food and hospitality. They helped bring our dream wedding to life and, even when the weather took a turn last minute, saved the day and gave us the most perfect day we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. The Alverbank truly is a hidden gem and we’d recommend a wedding with them to anyone. We couldn’t have asked for more. From the Mitchell-Bretts.
This was our first visit for a very long time and our Sunday lunch was perfect. Very tasty food, hot and good portions without being overwhelming. The staff were very welcoming and efficient.

go-to place to eat in future.
Attended my nieces wedding on the 18th August 2023 at the Alverbank and did not know what to expect. The Hotel was what I had imagined full of character and very clean. The staff on arrival were helpful and nothing was too much for them. The whole weekend was amazing and that has a lot to do with all the staff. The Wedding was amazing but that has a lot to with Claire and Billy who worked non stop to ensure nobody wanted for anything. They were on hand throughout. So a BIG thank you to them.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a lifetime experience you don't want to forget.

The service is always personal and attentive. The food is locally sourced, and a wide range to select from and always really good portion sizes.
I would recommend this place anytime during the week for a meal. I cannot comment on the rooms etc as we have no stayed there.
We had a lunch for 11 in a private room on a wet day - could have had brighter lights! BUT virtually everything eaten was really good - service impeccable and really enjoyable. It is pricey but worth it - my rib eye steak was amazing - thank you
We had a large family celebration, lunch party on a Sunday. From beginning to end, they deserved five stars. Very friendly and extremely helpful throughout, the staff were all superb. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, hot and beautifully presented. We had a wonderful day.
Absolutely fabulous food, The Breakfast was sublime, comfy rooms, but the best asset is the staff, they all go above and beyond to help with a smile. We were very fortunate to be looked after by Anisha who went above and beyond during our stay there to ensure we had the best time, we did.
Had a absolutely delicious Sunday Roast yesterday. Freshly cooked veg and Yorkshire pudding to die for. Service was excellent too. Highly recommended. Will be back.
This is the perfect place for drinks in the garden, the views are stunning the staff are so accommodating and friendly. I can recommend the food it’s worth booking for a meal, however the light bites are absolutely gorgeous if you just want a snack with your drinks. This place has the perfect garden in the sunshine and the open snug fires in the winter. Highly recommended.
Reliving our wedding day this time 5 years ago. It's like a different hotel now, stunning! Amazingly friendly staff, lovely food and the rooms are fresh and modern now. Thank you to the Alverbank for having us again
I planned my friends hen do at the Alverbank at one of their events - Full Moon Party, and what an incredible night we had! Thank you so much for so much fun, memories forever and our special place in ‘hen do corner’.

It’s so lovely to enjoy the beautiful gardens in early evening sun, chill music, entertainment, and yummy food & drink! As night appears, the party starts! Definitely has that ‘holiday feel’.

Having eaten here quite a few times now, for various occasions, I simply cannot fault the hospitality of The Alverbank. The food is delicious with a great choice to suit all tastes. The service and staff are amazing, and with two children who have allergies, the care and attention to ensure they were catered for and could enjoy their food was so refreshing. I feel I should also mention the location, with views across the Solent you couldn’t ask for more! Highly recommended!!
Beautiful Hotel in a stunning location. Friendly staff & wonderful food. It offers a range of different activities from, taste club menus, Jazz nights & comedy nights featuring popular TV stars.
The grounds are within a beautiful park & just a stroll from Stokes Bay beach with stunning sunsets. A fabulous location for photographs.
