Beautiful little costal hotel with excellent restaurant in the middle of a dog friendly park. Fantastic views of the ocean. Room was comfortable (mattress was firm but I like that for my sleep). It's a historic building so expect creaks and squeaks but that's part of its character.
Activities include walking the beach and the park. Very relaxing.
Claire and the team at the Alverbank were top class, and truly made our wedding special, nothing was too much trouble and all guests commented on the amazing food and hospitality. They helped bring our dream wedding to life and, even when the weather took a turn last minute, saved the day and gave us the most perfect day we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. This was our first visit for a very long time and our Sunday lunch was perfect. Very tasty food, hot and good portions without being overwhelming. The staff were very welcoming and efficient.

Attended my nieces wedding on the 18th August 2023 at the Alverbank and did not know what to expect. The Hotel was what I had imagined full of character and very clean. The staff on arrival were helpful and nothing was too much for them. The whole weekend was amazing and that has a lot to do with all the staff. The Wedding was amazing but that has a lot to with Claire and Billy who worked non stop to ensure nobody wanted for anything. They were on hand throughout. So a BIG thank you to them.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a lifetime experience you don't want to forget.

The service is always personal and attentive. The food is locally sourced, and a wide range to select from and always really good portion sizes.
I would recommend this place anytime during the week for a meal. I cannot comment on the rooms etc as we have no stayed there.
We had a lunch for 11 in a private room on a wet day - could have had brighter lights! BUT virtually everything eaten was really good - service impeccable and really enjoyable. It is pricey but worth it - my rib eye steak was amazing - thank you
We had a large family celebration, lunch party on a Sunday. From beginning to end, they deserved five stars. Very friendly and extremely helpful throughout, the staff were all superb. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, hot and beautifully presented. We had a wonderful day.
Absolutely fabulous food, The Breakfast was sublime, comfy rooms, but the best asset is the staff, they all go above and beyond to help with a smile. We were very fortunate to be looked after by Anisha who went above and beyond during our stay there to ensure we had the best time, we did.
Had a absolutely delicious Sunday Roast yesterday. Freshly cooked veg and Yorkshire pudding to die for. Service was excellent too. Highly recommended. Will be back.
This is the perfect place for drinks in the garden, the views are stunning the staff are so accommodating and friendly. I can recommend the food it’s worth booking for a meal, however the light bites are absolutely gorgeous if you just want a snack with your drinks. This place has the perfect garden in the sunshine and the open snug fires in the winter. Highly recommended.

Having eaten here quite a few times now, for various occasions, I simply cannot fault the hospitality of The Alverbank. The food is delicious with a great choice to suit all tastes. The service and staff are amazing, and with two children who have allergies, the care and attention to ensure they were catered for and could enjoy their food was so refreshing. I feel I should also mention the location, with views across the Solent you couldn’t ask for more! Highly recommended!!
Beautiful Hotel in a stunning location. Friendly staff & wonderful food. It offers a range of different activities from, taste club menus, Jazz nights & comedy nights featuring popular TV stars.
The grounds are within a beautiful park & just a stroll from Stokes Bay beach with stunning sunsets. A fabulous location for photographs.

This is one of the best and nicest hotels we have had the pleasure to stop in, so much so we have already booked our next stay. The room was perfect and a very good size.
