Great fish and chips, well worth the drive, batter was light and crispy and the cod was lovely and moist.
Chips were good but too much for me �
Try the American chip spice, an interesting alternative to plain salt. �
Staff are top notch to boot �
The shop looks great. The staff are friendly. The food was fab. Very generous portions. Our Cods were regular size not large but still overhung the edge of the plate. Batter was nice crispy on the fish and the chips were spot on. Keep up these standards lads and I'm sure you'll be onto a winner! ����

It isn't the food that sets this plaice � apart from the rest, it is the friendly and happy environment they have created. However the food is top notch - crisp batter, great chips and a wide variety to chose from!
Also they have embraced technology and social media in such a fantastic way. All of this is to provide customer service that is second-to-none!

Fish is a good size, and batter is one of the best, chip portions are very good, they are reasonable prices and like the fact they do a rewards card and open early afternoon for a sneaky butty.. 5* staff are always friendly too..

Husband didn't moan .... that's a first ! Chip shop dinners were off the menu when mikes got taken over and went rapidly down hill , now back on the menu with the opening of the lovely , clean and friendly scotts plaice . Would highly recommend !
This has got to be the best chippy in gosport,it's a pleasure to walk into such a lovely clean chip shop with lovely friendly staff, and the food is always freshly cooked and delicious ,best of all it's right across the road from our house ,�

Scotts Plaice highly recommended by me and hubby. Their fish is perfect every time, also chips too many to count. Well worth every penny plus you now get loyalty cards. Keep up the good work the staff are always so friendly and obliging too. Make you feel welcome any day you go in.

This chippy has gone downhill! I don’t normally post negative reviews. Ordered food as a Friday night treat at 1820 and finally arrived at 2020 after 2 phone calls chasing the order. Will be worth the wait we thought, it’s normally good, how wrong could we be! Food was very oily and very overpriced for what we actually got.
The light bite fish and chips was awful, pictured below the fish was mainly a lump of oily batter (pictured on plate as it was inedible) and an about a dessert spoon of fish (I know it’s light but that’s ridiculous) This is pictured in the oily box (yummy🤢) with which seemed like the scraps of chips left in fryer. Sorry Scott’s Plaice very disappointing. (07/07/2023)

After a concerned phone call and a sincere apology from the owner we decided to give Scott’s Plaice one more try ……….
Well it didn’t disappoint, after a temporary glitch,.normal service has definitely resumed. Absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked fish and chips. Yummy 😋 (See lower photos)

Lovely food and helpful staff , a few issues ordering online but all sorted with a phone call. Friendly delivery driver delivered food quickly and efficiently, Definitely be using regularly.

Scott's Plaice is a traditional Fish and Chip shop that really delivers on quality and price. The fish, sausages etc are really good quality, the batter is super crispy and the chips are to die for. Service is always super friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I don't live in Gosport, but I choose to travel to Scotts' for the exceptional food and service. I wish you all well, Keep up the good work!
I found this gem of a fish and chip shop a few months ago. The food is always tasty and well cooked with good portion sizes. I usually have a delivery and she is always friendly and on time. Highly recommend.
I guess I order from scotts plaice one a fortnight and have tried a wide variety of their goods from fish and chips to a mixture of side orders,pies,sausages and we have never had a bad meal.Always piping hot and fresh loads of flavour and always with a pleasant smile and happy to serve you.we have also ordered for delivery and even then it arrives on time and hot. You can try the rest but always come and try the best.Scotts plaice wins by miles.

There are now better options locally, I wouldn't order from here again, such a shame
I have had many a fish and chip night from various place but Scott's I must say out does them all. the food when delivered is hot and nicely packed no diffrent from collecting it

Had to wait for quite a while because they were doing orders for take away first, some other chippes employ some one else so that they can do both.
