It was our first visit and it was out of the blue. We fancied a change from our usual venue. On first entering the building we were impressed with the decor and layout. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It was late afternoon so we chose our meal from the lunchtime menu. Not being very adventurous people when it comes to food we opted for the chicken Kiev. What a great choice it turned out to be. It was cooked to perfection. It was made with actual chicken and not reconstituted meat like many places serve. It was served with French Peas which was a dish new to us. I could go on and on but don't take my word for it go there and treat yourself.
Well what can I say first visit well impressed would recommend this to anyone who fancy change from the normal pubs .
I personally had steak and cooked to perfection .
What can I say to you in desert myself and friend had the shared pudding it spot on Carmel ice cream and profiteroles and creme brûlée ans chocolate cheeses cake . But complement to the person who make the fudge that was also on the platter .
Best fudge I tasted in long time thank you for putting some in bag for me to take home .
You should sell this in the shop excellent . Myself and two friend give you the five stars 😄
Arrived with an hour to kill before our daughters graduation. Had a cheeky tea and cappuccino with a top fish finger sandwich with handmade fingers and tartare sauce. Just beautiful. Chunky sea salted chips and salad slightly touched with a yummy dressing. Then lemon and blueberry cake. Soft squishy and just the right icing on top. Sat outside looking across the bean filled field and glancing towards the VW camper. A delight. Service great. Struggled to not do a "take something home" but restrained ourselves.
We had gone for a bank holiday Monday drive looking to eat somewhere in the countryside. Stumbled across this place and we were truly delighted with our delicious meal in a quiet county setting. All staff were very friendly. The owner showed us around a few of the rooms after dinner which are beautifully decorated to a very high standard. We will definitely be retuning & booking a room for a relaxing break. 5* plus �
Had afternoon tea in Lola was amazing I am mad on vwcampervan the service was excellent could not do enough and very friendly the afternoon tea was brilliant two and because we don’t drink we did get the chance to have a soft drink instead off the wine on offer would definitely revisit to try the food in the pub it looked lovely thanks again

Wonderful dinner last night , we have only ever visited when out on our tandem and stopped for coffee and cake , we decided to visit for dinner and wasn't disappointed, great food and service ,the staff very friendly even showed us around the rooms they look fantastic might even have an over night stay and treat ourselves .

Called in for Sunday lunch. Beautiful place. Staff very welcoming. Decided not to have a starter cos we fancied the puddings. Well.... We ordered the Turkey crown dinners, absolutely love a Christmas dinner in May. It was massive!! Comes with extra gravy, sides of cauliflower cheese and well seasoned greens. I couldn't breathe, I was so full! Delicious. Gutted we were too full to even share a pudding!
Wow! What a find this super place is. Beautifully stylish interior and very welcoming. The staff are lovely, very friendly and super efficient. The menu has a great range of dishes. I chose steak and ale pie, home made chips and mushy peas plus extra gravy. It was piping hot and delicious. My friend had the vegetarian pie which was leek and potato in a cream sauce, pastry lid, mash and good vegetarian gravy. It was all beautifully cooked and we struggled to finish it but were determined to try! Lovely wine and the whole meal was sensibly priced. We'll definitely be back.
Debbie and the team recently held a celebration for my mum after she recently passed. They dealt with everything for me so I didn’t have to worry and it was perfect. The food was lovely, the yurt was gorgeous and I couldn’t have asked for a better send off for my mum. Thank you all for a lovely celebration.
Getting served at the bar was a bit disjointed as I had to find a server. She then served others before me?
On the whole, it was ideal for the wedding nicely decorated and in an ideal spot.
Spur of the moment, breakfast with family. Really pretty location. Super breakfast menu with dishes to suit most appetites and tastes. Four diners £60 with drinks, I call that reasonable.
Would definitely recommend and would return in a jiffy.

Stayed away for a night on a business trip with my wife, the best stay I've had this year. Clean, friendly and comfy with a good choice for breakfast. The Inn and rooms have been very tastefully decorated and the staff make you feel at home. Would definitely return.
We spent a lovely Sunday afternoon having a nice meal with friends and family. It was a lovely meal. I had a mushroom bruschetta to start, and most of the group admitted that they liked the look of my starter best. I had the "Barnsley Chop" which tasted lovely. We stayed the night and had a lovely stay. The breakfast in the morning was superb. Overall, it was a very nice time spent with lovely people. I have to say it was a shame the bar closed at 6.30pm. For people staying the night a little bit of an inconvenience. But overall, I would definitely recommend this place. Many thanks to all the staff.

The restaurant is clean and smart, the menu was great and for those of us who need gluten free options, there was a good choice to choose from.
The fish and chips were lovely, and the portion was huge. The GF brownie was moist inside with the perfect crunch.
Breakfast GF options are also available if you stay over, the scrambled eggs are freshly made and super creamy.
The only suggestion for improvement is to look at stocking some of the local Yorkshire beers, that happen to be gluten free (rather than imported GF Peroni), for example from World Top Brewery or Hambleton Brewery - the stuff that everyone would drink, so there's no risk of it going off, but us GF folk can also enjoy.
The bedroom was really spacious, good sized desk for doing some work, very comfortable king sized bed, and I even had a roll top bath in the bedroom. The missus would have been in heaven. The big walk in rain shower was great in the morning too.
I love personalised and friendly customer service too, credit to the team here.
Next time my work projects bring me down to this part of the world, the Pig Inn will be my first choice to stay again.
Stayed for 2 nights here, I will definitely go back. Great service, very friendly staff. I think everyone, one of them talk to you and are genuinely friendly. The food is very, very good, and the full Yorkshire breakfast is huge. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Only stopped here for breakfast. Really nice quality ingredients, but for some of the dishes there needs to be more of them. E.g. the poached eggs and avocado on toast serving is quite small for the price of £10. Only 1 slice of toast and 1 egg. I would definitely eat here again though! They do really nice coffees too 😊
We found ourselves in the area with nothing booked anywhere, rang through to Peppered Pig and they fitted us in at short notice on a Saturday night which was very much appreciated.
Food was delightful and the staff really friendly. Lots of choices on the dessert menu and the dessert specials, so much so we had 1 to eat now and 1 to take home for tomorrow. Lovely place. Will definitely visit again if we find ourselves in the vicinity

Food was good but it has been better, I have been here a few times, but my last visit just wasn’t as good as I remember. I can’t put my finger on exactly why, but I feel some of the portions and plates were a bit small/bare. I think the duck would benefit from being served with something rather than just on its own for example. But maybe that was just the dishes I personally ordered.
