Modest rural pub with friendly atmosphere and beautifully cooked food. Evening meals are great value (tasty curry and fresh crisp battered fish), sunday lunch is second to none, and they really did us proud for dad's 75th party. Some funky cider flavours too!!!
Stayed over in our motorhome for new year. Site was slightly waterlogged but this was beyond owners control. Had good stay, meals were very nice and even free buffet new years eve. Highly recommended
We stayed 2 nights in the cabins and we could have stayed a week. Lovely atmosphere fantastic staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. The pub is lovely with great real British pub atmosphere. Can't rate highly enough. We will definitely be back.
Brilliant little campsite for tents and Caravans. Craig the owner is welcoming and always on hand to help when needed. The staff at the Half Moon Inn pub are brilliant and even though I didn't sample the food, the chef, Dave, looks like he makes some mean food. Facilities are spot on for what you need. All in all great little place to stay and will be definitely going again.
Booked for 2 nights as a peaceful getaway from Hull, nearby city. This place did not disappoint! The rooms where great, double bed, TV, ensuite shower and toilet. Has small decking area with 2 chairs and had complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The pub and restaurant was a lovely friendly local pub, the food is exquisite, have to have the rib eye steak it was to die for, the chef is obviously very talented because all dishes we had were perfect! The staff are so helpful and polite and cannot do enough to help you. The village in which the bar and accommodation is situated is also very scenic and very trusting, a real sense of community, home owners selling merchandise with honesty box for payment to be collected. The trip was very much enjoyed and I suspect myself and my fiancée will return at some point. Thanks guys!
We camped at the Half Moon Inn in August. A fantastic friendly campsite, the owner was very helpful as we packed the tent away in a monsoon and he gave us as much time as we needed. A lovely pub and delicious food.
Nice atmosphere in this busy pub (it's the only one for a few miles around). Food looked good though we didn't dine. My partner's draught cider was great but they only one draught cask beer on & that was a bitter, it wasn't at its best.
I'd try the place again & either give the beer a second chance if I was passing or play safe and get keg beer.
Managed to get a table last minute (thanks for fitting us in) great food and staff A+
Came here to the campsite for NewYear. Campsite a bit muddy but fine. Entertainment and free buffet in the pub on NYE and a fabulous carvery served on NY Day. Great experience. Will go back.
A fantastic site that is extremely clean with everything you need if you are a camper.
Great idea using the beer barrels for putting the BBQ on to save the grass.
The food in the pub was fantastic and the staff excellent.
It was great to see the young children actually playing rather than screen timing!!!
Looking forward to booking here again.
Lovely pub in a great location, went for Sunday Carvery and we weren't disappointed, fantastic food, great selection of meat and veg. We will definitely be going again. A little off the beaten track but more than worth the effort of getting there. Highly recommended
Had food here was very lovely, good atmosphere, great service, staff were very welcoming polite easy to talk to, has a camping area out the back, an all round great place 😀
Dropped in for some food, heard good things so thought we'd try it. Great pint (traditional was the name) fantastic carvery and excellent price! A warm welcome and the other patrons were great to talk to. We will be back soon! Thank you all
Fantastic site, the pub food is outstanding, very tasty. Reasonably priced bar too. Shower is £1 for 2mins, so £3 for a quick 6mins shower, its a nice clean shower room with 2 showers. My only criticism is theres only 1 gents cubical toilet, i would get rid of the urinals and fit 2 more cubicles, as i bet they are super busy in summer when its full.
We camped here for the night and had a meal in the pub. Food was absolutely delicious, really reasonably priced for the quality! Had fajitas, fish and chips and a kids chicken ball meal, hearty portions and everything was perfectly cooked. The vinaigrette on the side salad was particularly tasty! Thanks so much for a great stay :)
Lovely homely pub, had a lovely meal, gammon with egg and pineapple, chips onion rings and salad, good portions. Very reasonably priced 2 for £20. Had a massive sticky toffee pudding with custard.
Service was great, attentive but not in your face. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.
