Had a meal here today, there was 12 of us altogether, the meal was fantastic and the puddings, would highly recommend going here, fab food
We stumbled across this pub whilst looking for somewhere to eat. It was fairly busy and most people seemed to be locals. The staff were all friendly as were the customers. We ordered a pate starter which was very tasty and came with a very nice chutney. For our main course we ordered the rib eye steaks, medium cooked, and they were perfect and very tasty. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I love this place .. not just the delicious food but the people that run it Kate and Mike Lawton! Professional friendly and accommodating to most that you ask. We are so lucky to be able to host some of our events here, dinner combined with a sociable evening for up to as many as 25 in the Restaurant area. We also have celebrated many times within the Restaurant and the Gardens accommodating up to 100 + great service always. Thank you x

Delicious food, we had whitebait and nachos as starter and as main we had ribs which were melting in the mouth, I remembered halfway through to take pictures 😂😂😂. Staff was very friendly and even let us charge our phones
Friendly owners that explained to us when we came in they were a little short handed. We appreciated knowing up front and were fine with it. We had a beer and great conversation with a gentleman cyclist. The food was fantastic!
We were staying locally and decided to try the Royal Oak without a booking as we arrived early evening. We got a table fine but it did get busy as the evening went on so may be advisable to book. The staff were friendly and attentive and gave recommendations on the menu. Drinks were always delivered really quickly. Food service was a little slow, but that suited us a we were in no hurry and we were kept topped up on drinks. Also I always think it’s being freshly prepared if it takes a little longer 😀 When our food came it tasted good and portions were a decent size. If we were local again I would happily return to the Royal Oak.
Fantastic rustic pub. Under new management. Redecorated. Great atmosphere good selection of drinks, tasty food highly recommended. The staff were helpful and friendly. A must to visit for drinks and food.
Wonderful place also for Business Trips, close to town, the rooms are a little bit old but clean. The Restaurant is great!
I had a great time at this pub. The food was delicious, especially the vegan chocolate brownie and cauliflower curry with rice. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. I would definitely recommend this pub to others.
Sunday lunch out there, food was lovely , couldn't fault, if being picky the service could of been a little quicker to take orders , once in it didn't take long, family feel and would certainly go back, you may get cheaper once you add in couple drinks but as said food was lovely along with pub

Warm, friendly, country pub in the modern vernacular. Good choice of lunchtime sarnies, reasonably priced and served in a prompt and charming way. Proper real ales too, my friend assures me so will be a returning customer.

Lovely friendly staff, great food! Good range of drinks, husband has nut allergy, but they are nut free due to chef having allergy, so he could just chose anything on menu which was amazing for him, will definitely be back and highly recommend
