Sat in the beautiful beer garden surrounded by tubs and hanging baskets brimming over with flowers, with a stream running alongside. I ordered calves liver and my partner had the fish cakes...both were delicious and well priced. Both meals plus four drinks was less than £40.

A lovely place to stop on a summers afternoon for drinks and a bite to eat, there's a large outdoor seating area with extra parking at the rear. Children are welcome and can play in the small play area with swings and a slide or take their shoes and socks of and walk safely in the stream.

I have been coming hear on and off for 37yrs! Love Gomshall always brings back lovely memories including having a lovely afternoon at The Compasses with my father who sadly passed away this year! Down staying in Redhill this week had a Sunday meal with the family! It was superb and very reasonably priced! The staff are lovely, so if you are driving on the A25 well worth a stop! And if I'm in mines a Fosters!!!

Great pub. Superb service. Excellent food. Asked for extra pitta and didn't get charged for it. Lovely setting by a stream. Would be even nicer on a summers day. We had an autumnal mild evening, the fire was on inside the pub and we had a walk along the stream outside. Perfect - and they catered well for my two fussy vegetarian children.

I absolutely love this place. I ride here for lunch and they are so accommodating and welcoming to us and are more than happy to let my horse wonder around the pub garden! Would highly recommend to anyone...

Place looking absolutely fantastic....loved the garden and all the flowers. The Pub inside looked brighter too! We hadn't been there for about 6 years. Food was good but took a while to arrive. Would come back when in the area again 😊

This is such a lovely pub with a stream and beautiful flower displays everywhere. The landlord takes real pride in the garden and has won several awards. There is no better place to sit and have a pint and meal on a summer day and it is surrounded by beautiful walking country. I come several times a year when I'm walking and it is always good. The food is nice and varied, the real ale excellent and the staff are always friendly and cheerful. And you can go wild paddling!

Lovely place this , took my mum here for lunch and she also loved it , very well kept flowery garden and calming stream running through that you can paddle in . I had a fish finger sandwich which I highly recommend- they were not Birdseye fishfingers but proper fish in batter almost like mini fish and chips fish and the chips were also amazing . Mum had a BLT which wasnt as good but I think I was spoilt by the fish finger sandwich. Friendly staff and food didnt take long although it wasnt busy.

The atmosphere here is absolutely stunning. The bar is inside the cottage. They have a beautiful outdoor garden that has seating. There is a stream that runs under the deck where you can sit. They are kid and dog friendly and even have a play area for the little ones. Parking spots are light so we had to curb park it up the street but just a short walk away. We ordered at the bar both drinks and food at the bar and you give them your table number to bring food out to you. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Bar assistant was helpful with making choices and answering questions.

So I think this place really thrives off it’s rustic status, to be honest if it had a revamp it would feel a bit weird, it’s the kind of pub that thrives off looking a little tired. I didn’t get to eat so I can’t comment on that, but I will definitely go back to try the food. The staff behind the bar were super friendly and this is the reason I’m giving it five stars, had it not been for her welcoming and friendly service I would probably give this place 4 stars. They had Tribute and Sheer Drop so I was happy and the Tribute tasted fresh, I find in some places it can taste a little stale and old because they don’t clean the pipes and it’s left in the barrel to long but not here, it tasted fresh and was a lovely pint. Looking forward to my next visit to have food at which point I will update my review.

Friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices, lovely and large garden with plenty of picnic benches and a stream running through it. Great location in beautiful surroundings and plenty of parking right outside. Outdoor and indoor dining, and good variety on the menu too.

In the middle of a nice 3 mile Fancy Free Walk, downhill to the pub, couple of pints then back to the car.

The location and surroundings are beautiful in a sunny day feels like paradise. However, I can’t say the same thing with food. Could’ve been significantly better

The food (we both had calf liver) was amazing. Very well made. Cask beer selection is quite good for a countryside pub. Staff was friendly, the place has a homely vibe in the evenings. The beer garden looked quite spectacular, I'm sure it's lovely when the weather turns warm. We had a lovely dinner here after a hike in Surrey Hills.
