The Trawler - Golspie - Photo album

One of the best fish and chips i had in scotland. The fish was perfectly cooked with a light crispy batter paired with perfectly fried light golden chips, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A must try if you are driving through Golspie and need to grab a bite quickly.
The food was great, a little oily but normal for a chippy. They offer gluten free options which is an almost immediate 5 star in my book. We had a fish and chips each with curry gravy and mushy peas. Do not miss out on the curry gravy! The only downside is that there is nowhere to sit.
Quick service on a Monday Eve. Very good portion. Always check opening times very carefully. The restaurant is closed on the Monday Eve, at the moment. Unfortunately for us, but we decided to make it a dashboard dinner. Didn't sit outside as weren't prepared to share with the (sea)gull. Friendly sta
Mama P the manager was very helpful and kind. We had the fish and chips and it was delicious. The local beers were also tasty.
Quick and tasty take-away fish and chips. My girlfriend and I arrived late at our stay for the night and came in half an our before closing. Even then, great service, tasty food.
Paulina was lovely and couldn't have been more accommodating. The gluten free fish and chips were delicious..some of the best gf batter I've had....and then she showed me cake!!...being dairy and gluten intolerant i barely get to have dessert so when I found i could have the lemon polenta cake it wa
Staying in the area and Googled a Fish and Chip shop. Came up as nearby and the reviews read well. On arrival we managed to park outside free of charge and get straight in. Food was cooked on request and came fresh and warm. Possibly a little higher price than we are used to but can't comment on
This is a fantastic little spot for a cheeky chippy and fried fish! We stopped on our way up to the Orkney Islands and it was well worth it. There was a short queue, but we didn’t wait long. The food was damn tasty and we enjoyed our fish and a deep fried blood pudding snack on the beach! They aren’
Exceptional quality fish and chips in a really cosy and warmly decorated place. The chicken burger was awesome, and as always the chips were fresh and light. Service from the young waitress was really prompt, polite, and friendly. Couldn't fault it. The other lady who we chatted with at the end
Lovely chip shop , delicious food , good service , thank you very much. Clearly a well loved place by locals and not so locals.
Gluten free range to die for. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very knowledgeable. Sadly didn't get a chance to take a photo because I couldn't stop stuffing my face. The rest of the family that had full gluten, it was amazing too!!
Arrived at this wonderful restaurant after several hours of travelling and opted to dine in. So glad we did, as me and my wife were made very welcome by the ever so warm, friendly and charming Momma P. The food was promptly delivered, tasted fabulous and set us up perfectly for the remainder of the
Been here twice now 2018/2021 with my visits to the Highlands of Scotland. Crunchy chips with fluffy centres and delicious boneless cod portions. Good value for top quality takeaway.
We come here every time we are up on holiday and its our favourite chippy. We decided to eat in the restaurant rather than take away as it was windy. I'm so glad we did, we were looked after by the fascinating and welcoming Mamma P. She was so lovely to our kids and provided 5⭐️ service. We will def
Great fish and chips. Strongly recommended.
Not to be dramatic, but this place ruined all other fish and chips for me. I tried fish and chips about 4 or 5 other times on my two week roadtrip around Scotland, and this place had by far the best flavor. I came here after visiting Dunrobin castle. I only took a star off bc I couldn't sit down to
Good portions of fish and chips, well cooked and plenty of flavour. Kids loved it too. Ideally located on main high street.
We eat at The Trawler last night and the food was very nice and fresh. Trawler burger was a little over cook as for my taste but still was ok. We fall in love with Mama P! Happy lady with big smile and amazing service was the highlight of our journey! What make it even more special-she was from Pol
A nice place to visit, and a high standard of Fish and Chips. A decent menu, not to large making choosing a meal much easier. Staff are bright and friendly. Has a good reputation in Golspie which is a good sign. Only negative is the meager amount of chips with the fish.
