Lovely place great for kids with good outside play areas and plenty of space. Food very nice classic pub favourites recommend the burgers and hunters chicken. Friendly helpful staff who are always approachable and happy to help.
Thank you for the best pub meal we've had in ages, today! We intend coming back to sample your carvery soon. Very impressed! All aspects of our meal were fantastic - tasted amazing and well cooked, lovely fresh local produce, good service and nice atmosphere. Thank you.

What a lovely pub. Very friendly staff. Plenty to keep the children entertained. The food was great and plenty of it. There is even a maze in the garden which we all enjoyed.
We have been coming here for years. The Griffin is the best pub on the island. We always get a warm and friendly welcome from the staff, who are more than happy to help. They will even do our favourite meals from their specials menu if we phone them in advance. (even on the days when it's not on the menu). A great family pub!
I had chilli con carne and was delicious and can highly recommend, a nice cosy pub and very friendly bar staff.
Just had a really lovely meal at the Griffin, the staff were really friendly, when our dinner came out we couldn't believe the portion size, you deffo get what you pay for, our dinners were really nice and tasty and we will deffo be back again soon. Thank you x
We visited the Griffin as we had driven past it previously and commented on how family friendly it looked. We popped in to reserve a table (just in case) and were greeted by helpful staff. When we came back half an hour later our table was ready and again the staff were helpful, explaining what was included in the 2-course deal. Our food was brought to the table reasonable quickly, but was freshly prepared. The Griffin has a lovely outdoors for the kids to amuse them while they wait. An excellent choice of pub!
Had my wifes birthday meal and it was yummy. The steak was cooked just how i asked , staff very friendly. We shall come back again. Well done

I think this pub is absolutely brilliant really friendly staff, they go out of the way to accommodate you , the food is excellent, 2015 they had a smoked salmon and prawn linguine on there menu and it was to die for , we were back in 2016 and it wasn't on the menu but they made it for me still, we are looking forward to going back there end of July as our kid's say #bestpubever
Lovely place to eat fantastic food and service. Just returned home from a great holiday in the Isle of Wight. We visited The Griffin a few times as we always do. Highly Recommend it to anyone who holidays on the Island......
been he a few times & it's a nice place to go for meal if you find yourself in Godshill (best to book) - there are outside areas for Food & drink + a small maze in the garden with a stone seat? in the centre (great for kids & the young at heart!)
A lovely afternoon with family and friends. The restaurant is beautiful, with comfortable seating and a nice big patio. The service was quick and the staff were efficient.
Parking is very limited by the restaurant but across the road is a spacious area for lots of parking. Thank you, a super afternoon.
Just visited following the referb! The pub is beautiful, really tasty meals and even better desserts! We were seated by Beth who made sure we got a cosy table then served by Freddie, she was attentive and recommended the mozzarella, tomato and avocado sandwich, it was HUGE!

Good service, though it took over half an hour for our food to arrive.
Live music, lovely but unfortunately too loud even with the amp on the lowest setting.
Could do with some sort of call button as there wasn't enough staff floating around to take any extra drink orders etc (it was very busy). Staff were friendly and helpful (when you could find them).

New refit looks great , & toilets nice with a lovely soap. Good drink selection with menu & Food menu looks interesting, Korean burger tempting. Quite busy Saturday lunch I noticed with newish staff that I imagine will speed up . Very #dog friendly so deserves support from #locals too. Would anticipate success here ,music some weekends might work also.
We always come back to godshill every year.
It has had a refurbishment since the last time, and we can say its still absolutley beautiful. The staff are lovely, the food is exeptional. We will always come back hear time and time again. It is most definately our favourite place to eat on the island
Returning for the first time after many years to find the Griffin in good hands, spotlessly clean and the maze in the garden truly established now. A public house that's well worth a visit.
Had a lovely Sunday lunch today. The new menu is great. The lamb shank delicious and the veg cooked to perfection. Staff very attentive and friendly. Thanks to everyone at the Griffin. We will definitely be back very soon.

Having been going to the Griffin for the last 20 odd years, it was still a lovely family feel.

Actually had a really great time. The guy who is running the place (I'm.assuming Paul from the sign) has been amazing. So helpful, so friendly. It is my sons Birthday and we brought a cake in with us. I went to ask if we could light the candles and he happily took the cake out the back, lit the candles, dimmed the lights and even sang along with us.
Anyways back to the pub, the food was pretty good, definity no complaints. Portion size was good too.
The pub is now corporate owned and I was worried that it would lose its character (this was my local since I was born) but it's still very welcoming and the only none pub feel is that it's bright and clean.
Anyways, good job Griffin. Will be coming again!
Lovely pub with a great pub garden for the kids!! Also has a full-sized maze for the kids and adults 😎. We all had a Sunday roast which was lovely and served by friendly staff.

We came here today for lunch, we were early 11.45 so parking and seating was great. We ordered drinks while we looked at the menu and waited for the specials board to be ready.
We ordered off the menu and waited for our food to arrive. The pub filled up quickly so the atmosphere was lively. Our food arrived all of which was delicious and fresh, the portions are huge so was glad I was hungry! . The inside is beautiful after the refit . The staff are really friendly and helpful we will be going back soon.
Stopped in for a drink whilst on coach trip visiting village. Prompt and friendly service. Nicely decorated and clean throughout. Menu looked good but no time to try - next visit perhaps. Nice selection of beers in good condition.
A very nicely presented pub. Reasonable prices a nice easy help yourself to a table look at the menu and order at the bar. The staff were both polite and friendly and the garden area was very nice and there is plenty of parking. Toilets were very clean with great smelling hand soap. The pub also offers a dog menu. There is a specials menu as well so although the menu looks limited there are options.
All in all very good.
Recently it has been refurbished, we didnt stop for food but the drinks were reasonable,very nicely done a credit to the island.If you have children then the garden is immaculate and plenty of outside space.On our visit a lot of people were eating.An enjoyable experience well done.
Quiet when visited with friend. Bar staff really polite and approachable. Reasonable priced menu and lovely food. Highly recommended if you like a cosy traditional pub with good food and service. Definitely coming back soon
