A beautiful little restaurant with fantastic food and a very caring host.
We planned to go for a small lunch for 2 and ended up having a full blown 3 course meal with drinks. It was all absolutely beautiful food, the plates were left clean! It was very affordable.
The owner was so very kind and welcoming. He was polite, professional and made a fantastic coffee.
I can't recommend enough. Wonderful place and we will be back to pig out again!
excellent food. we loved everything they served, from starters to main. Will come again.
Food is very good, varied menu and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly.
Piazza Firenze has to be one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever had the pleasure to dine at in terms of the quality of its dishes (and we been to both chain restaurants and independents across Surrey).
Atmosphere and ambience are relax, elegant and subtle. Footspace is compact but it never felt cramped.
We ordered a mix of starters (Gambroni, Arancini), pasta (Linguini Polipo), secondi (Anatra duck) and pizza (Toscana) items, all tasted unpretentious and authentic, yet different from the other Italian places we have eaten at prior to this.
The flavours and ingredient mix somehow seem to be more in harmony, vibrant and distinctive. Pannacotta and Torta Di Mela (apple pie) desserts made for the crescendo to the end of the night, simply sumptuous.
Staff are jovial and light-hearted on a Sunday night -- never at the forefront but attentive -- making for a thoroughly enjoyable night.
Overall, our visit was an unexpected delight and we look forward to coming again. Who wouldn't - when everything feels so warm and home made?
An authentic Italian restaurant, friendly staff. Family friendly venue. Excellent food, I had a starter as main course, and added a portion of chips, and it was no problem.
Didn't get a piccie of the food, which was AMAZING, but had a lovely early supper with a friend and did half & half each of stuffed chicken breasts with goats 🐐 cheese 🧀 and a fantastic leek risotto with a yummy salad 🥗 on the side. Lovely location with warm & welcoming staff.
Good food, friendly staff. Worth a visit when I'm Godalming!
Brilliant food menue, attentive and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
We were met by friendly staff and shown to our booked table. The drink’s order was served in a timely fashion followed by our starters which were delicious. I can recommend the goats cheese starter as well as the calamari (melt in your mouth soft).
My daughters both have dairy allergies and they immediately offered vegan cheese as a replacement to dairy mozzarella. Got to love those vegans. My wife had the seafood risotto which was amazing and very tasty. I had the calzone, the best one I’ve had I a while.
Desserts was amazing also and again, thanks to the vegans, they offered a chocolate fudge cake and ice cream (dairy free). The kids raved about it.
Unlike some restaurants where can either not find a waiter or they hover over your table like flies, we never had to wait long before someone made eye contact from a distance to check if we needed something. What a lovely experience. Can definitely recommend them.
My favourite restaurant in Godalming. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious and a very relaxed atmosphere.
Lovely meal, mushroom starter epic! Opted for the steak, rather than the pizza for main. Steak was great, well cooked and decent size
Others thought the pizza could have been better but my meal was great
Also FANTASTIC with kids
Great family-style classic Italian with excellent food. Pizzas are thin, crisp and tasty. Mixed clientelle of families, couples and groups makes it feel friendly and relaxed. It was packed when we went. Service is great, even when busy.
Been back to here loads of times, great food and friendly staff.
A really nice restaurant, the selection is great and the food is delicious. Thank you 🙏
This is a hidden gem in Godalming! We’ve been here nearly seven years and only discovered this mouth watering Italian restaurant a couple months ago, going past you may mistaken it for being part of the Hotel.
Service is prompt even on the busier nights, tables are neat, people are not to close to one another and the food, THE FOOD………. I do not know where to start. Three Course is a must! Food is fresh and delicious, my mouth-waters thinking about returning. Not many restaurants in my lifetime make my sensors react just thinking about the place.
Big thank you to all the front of house for the smiles and service and to the back of the house for the magic you create on a plate/bowl/dish!
See you soon
Went for a lunch menu. Very impressed. Rebooked already to go back.
I was drawn in by the sign outside offering a two course lunch or one course plus drink for £12.95 which seemed exceptional value. The Seabass (a £2.50 supplement) was superb – rustic style with a sprig of oregano on top; and the house white was decent after it had had a chance to breath and lose the initial funk.
The service was mediocre – the man was surly, and the girl didn't appear to speak English, as experienced by another table trying to get their extra pizza that they'd sent to be boxed returned to the table.
Unfortunately when it came to the bill, I had been charged the full menu price for the food and drink. When I pointed out the mistake, the bill came back with the wine changed from small white to large red. (I'd had a large white and would have expected to pay the difference, but not a separate full price main and drink, since I'd ordered off the set menu, and the drink size was asked for when ordering).
By this time my parking had expired, and I didn't have a phone signal to renew it, so left to pay at the machine while they sorted out the bill.
When I returned I was presented with the same bill again. I tried to explain the issue, but the man belligerently insisted that it was correct. Although he offered to comp the meal it was done in such a negative way that it was clear that it wasn't a gracious offer. I insisted on paying, but only the correct amount, and calculated the total cost for him – £12.95 set menu, £2.50 supplement for the Seabass, £2.00 for the difference in price for the wine, plus £2.18 discretionary service charge (that really wasn't due at this point for the service received) for a total of £19.63. not the £26 bill I was originally presented with. The man wrang it up for £15 and I wasn't going to argue further, so paid and left with a sour taste from what should have been a pleasant lunch.
I'm only dropping one star despite all this, as the food was excellent, but they really need to get their act together on the service. Despite the excellent food I would be reluctant to suggest it as a dinner venue due to the lack of table cloths, and cheap paper napkins. Perfectly acceptable at lunchtime, but brings the tone down on the evening. And watch your bill!
Great food. Good service. It's all you need.
Fantastic evening here. We didn't book ahead, but they managed to find us a table for 5. Food and drink very good. Will be coming back next time we are in the area. Next time we will book ahead! 🍕🍷
