Lovely dog friendly pub. Food was lovely and staff were kind and friendly too.
We found this pub quite by chance and it's absolutely fabulous. Good choice of menu, good quality and good price. A village pub with loads of atmosphere, the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's a shame we live nearly 300 miles away. Highly recommended, we had two fabulous meals here.
We had a delicious break on a longer journey here after lots of Googling to find a lunch spot. We were all very pleased with our choices, lovely, mild Thai curry and duck leg. Both men loved their cookie dessert and my Custard Eton mess version was lovely, but I realised it's nicer with fruit to cut through the sweetness for me!
We've been here a couple times now for food and can't fault it. Everything has been lovely and the menu is extensive, there are so many options to choose from. The pork belly starter is especially nice 😋
Table of four for dinner Friday 1st sept 5.30pm. We couldn’t book via web because we wanted to book on the day, which the website doesn’t allow, so we emailed and they responded within minutes to confirm they had booked us a table.
Modest sized car park and free spaces even though it was a Friday night.
Excellent range of ciders kept in the cellar!
Spoilt for choice with the menu, we decided on chicken wings/calamari/pork belly bites to start and home made pie/tofu Keebab/2 types of burger for mains. Food was very good, but the pork belly was a winner for me, maybe a tad salty (being picky!) but so tender and succulent, I will defo have this again next time!
It got busier as the evening progressed but we were never cramped for space and staff remained on hand and provided a lovely service.
Really, very good!
Good selection of ciders (and beer/ale)
Brisket was epic!
My only feedback is the horseradish could have been coarser, but that's prob more of a preference than a criticism.
Not cheap, but worth it.
We had a really nice night out, service was friendly, courteous and awesome. The food was delicious and good prices.
Would definitely recommend a visit and we'll be returning to try our more the the dishes on offer.
Very charming village pub, like stepping back in time 30 years before the big chains sunk their evil claws into the pub trade.
Log fires, low beams, wooden floor and pump clips displayed all over the ceiling and beams, plenty of REAL beer to choose from and a good spirit selection....only thing missing was sawdust on the floor.
Garden area was lovely especially under the hard shelter which was heated and had spare blankets to snuggle up in. Would definitely love to return for an evening
Lovely friendly welcome and the food was great. Certainly warrants another visit.
Very nice. These are dishes from the Sunday menu … the brisket is mouth watering, delicious …
