Found this small hotel/bar/restraunt by Google search when my pre booked choice had let me down. Only contacted them very late on day of arrival, fortunately they had space for 2x double rooms available. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Kitchen only open to order food unit 20:30, but the food was really well prepared and menu reasonably broad. The bar shuts at 22:00 and there are no staff available after that... a pity as I would have had another drink. Breakfast not included in room rate and only available from 09:30. I couldnt fault the quality and value for money of the full English breakfast £10 other than it should have included coffee/tea. Still it was excellent. The room I stayed in was well laid out & had good facilities. Plenty of hot water at a good pressure to have a very welcome shower. The bathroom also had a large corner bath. Despite the proximity to the A40, traffic noise want an issue, even with thd room window well open. Overall ... a great stay. Well done to the all the team here ... yes, I will be back.

A small hotel with separate restaurant set in a tranquil area adjacent to the river Severn and Hereford Gloucester canal. Very comfortable clean room. All the staff very friendly and helpful, nothing too much for them to ensure you have a great stay.

Went for a meal at the premises. First visit and will definitely be going back. Staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Reasonably priced too.

Had a lovely 2 night stay, shame we booked through a booking site, as we didn't realise the bar and restaurant are closed on a Monday and Tuesday. Nevertheless we had a lovely time, and had a beautiful breakfast before leaving on the Wednesday morning. Well be back for another break, to sample the the best and restaurant 🤩

I've stayed here twice in the past couple of weeks. The food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is really good - beautifully presented and delicious. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The prices are very reasonable when compared with other local hotels. It's a small place so there isn't always a member of staff available, but the service has always been excellent for me.

The room was very light and airey. Nice ensuite bathroom. The only negative was no bottled water in the bedroom. Food was very good especially the cheeseboard prepared by Tessa. Breakfast was very good. Possibly the owners might want to improve the signage from the road as we missed the entrance on arrival.

We booked for Sunday lunch as some of the family were visiting us. We weren't sure what to expect, perhaps a canal side pub? Not quite! It feels a bit like a cafe inside, but it is actually a restaurant serving very tasty food! Pricing for 2 courses was a reasonable £15, desserts are a little pricey (£9 for chocolate mousse!). Quality of the food is excellent, service is swift. 10% service charge for parties of 5 upwards. There is no children's menu, but they were happy to serve smaller portions from the main menu at a reduced price.

Very good meal in pleasant surroundings. My wife particularly loved the cheesecake pudding. Great place to have a stroll along the canal before/after meal. Will definitely be back.

Really small portions of food, but not sure if that is because I was eating with such a large group of people. The food was great though! Small and cosey restaurant right on the water. Free car park, but is rough terrain so wouldn't recommend using a wheelchair on it, and has an electric car charging space!

The Wharf House has incredible cuisine with an expansive wine list. The staff was very accommodating and kind! The restored Wharf House was repurposed as a beautiful inn and all profits go to the Herefordshire and Gloucester Canal Trust!

Great food in an interesting location. Slightly off the beaten track so they probably don't get as much business as they would in the city centre. But well worth the trip.

We have stayed several times at the Wharf House. Built by the Over basin, where the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal will meet the Severn once the canal is fully restored, all profits from the establishment go towards the Canal Trust. The Canal Trust’s task to restore the 34 miles of canal to Hereford is a daunting one, given that some of the original route has been built on and detours must be found and the land acquired. Set high above the bank of the River Severn, the Wharf House is quiet and cosy, with warm hospitality and staff who are attentive to detail. Dinner is an interesting experience with a wide variety of unusual combinations of flavours. The young staff are efficient and pleasant and the décor unfussy but elegant. The wine list is good.

Food was delicious. Lacked atmosphere though as very quiet when we went despite it being a Saturday evening.
