I've tried many chinese takeaways in Gloucester, most of them rubbish! This is the first I've had where I was pleasantly surprised to have no complaints! Great sauce, chips and chicken! Would recommend!

Good food, very fast and efficient service. Ordered takeaway (collect) over phone and picked up in 15 mins. Staff were friendly and helpful. You can order online but there is a problem with the website that does not allow you to order on Sundays and collect/deliver on the same day???? Mentioned to staff - they are aware. You can still order online but then phone through to arrange collection for same day. Pretty pointless if u have to ring anyway. Fix the website.
But hey happy with food and service. Would go back again. If busy parking could be a little problematic.
Since I moved to Gloucester years ago I've been looking for a good chinese - I am happy to say I've finally found an amazing one! Better than any other I've had both in and out of Gloucester.
The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The customer service was great - really lovely staff from the get go. They were upfront about being busy so said it'd be about an hour - they ended up being early, only around 40 minutes. I appreciated the fact they were honest about how long it would take, others may have overpromised and underdelivered - but Golden City did it right. Even the prices are far more reasonable than most takeaways in Gloucester.
Only way it could be better is if you could order for ASAP through the website (instead of over the phone), but I understand why if they're often busy. Our new favourite takeaway - 100% would recommend.

Staff are great ...the owner is very friendly and welcoming .Shame they are just take away hoping the restaurant may open in the future.Food generally good .Hadnt been quite so great during Covid times but recent take away was good

On holiday, had a takeaway from golden city and we ate the lot. It was the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had. Prices are good too. Four happy customers. Thank you
