My mum booked us afternoon tea for my birthday. It was the first time I'd been to the comfy pew and was really impressed. The afternoon tea was superb and the building itself was just lovely and quaint. I had a look at the general menu which was really appealing and not too pricey either so I'll definitely be returning

I tested the new chimney stack dessert yesterday. Opted for the Nutella version filled with vanilla ice-cream. Excellent value for money but far too much. Maybe two could share?? Only slight criticism was it was a teeny bit difficult to get into with a sundae spoon. Thanks for the opportunity.

First time I've visited today and I'm glad I did. The breakfast was lovely. 1 of the best I've had in Gloucester if not the best. Lovely and quite unique inside. Lovely part of Gloucester and the waitress who served me was very friendly as was all the staff. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Il definitely be making regular visits from now on!

We went to this cafe for race week for the first time and now been back 2 more times since to try out the other meals. The breakfast was lovely, the beef roast dinner is delicious and our reaction when the Beef Burger turned up was wow! The staff here are lovely too and made us feel very welcome. They are dog friendly too and even put sausages in a bowl and water down for our little fury friend to enjoy while we were there. We can't wait to try out the Steak night soon Trish!

Me and my daughter popped in here for our breakfast. The food was cooked to perfection and was absolutely delicious. The customer service was second to none too. See you in six weeks time.

Me and friend popped in here for lunch during a multi-day bike ride / camping trip. The food was great, atmosphere really nice and the staff were so lovely. They even gave us some free cakes for the road when we left. Thanks again for a great pitstop!

I believe this is the top breakfast place for visitors. The seating area has a farm house ambience so does the food including the crisply cooked bacon, beans in medium-sized tub and large fried eggs. The food was served piping hot so it was better to leave it a few minutes before eating.

When I was in residence as organist at Gloucester cathedral for a week two summer’s ago, we decided we should give this place a try somewhat later in our stay. I wondered if the pews came from the cathedral whenever they swapped them for chairs. I’m sorry to say we didn’t try this place sooner, as everything was beautifully done and well seasoned (which is not what I can say for the main pub in town that shall remain nameless, but perhaps they’ve since discovered salt). The lunch is still memorable to this day and the meat and mushroom pie was wonderful. The service was good and it was neat dining on a pew.

First visit. Popped in for lunch. Had a very tasty ham and cheese toastie, and a ploughman's. Generous portions, toastie came with chips and was so filling dinner wasn't needed that evening! Happy, friendly service from the two ladies serving was well worthy of the tip. Look forward to visiting again!

2020 UPDATE: Consistently awesome. Many visits now, always excellent. 20% discount for serving fire service people.1980s background music nice touch. ------------------ 2019: Unique. Must visit. Welcoming, warm and good food. GF aware so can advise and cater for. Accomodating for cyclists. My favourite café in Gloucester City. Old pews and memorabilia on walls, quiet and quirky. Best breakfast in Gloucester!!
